1286.0. "Suggestions to find solid white clothes" by POWDML::VENTURA (Great Goodley Moogley!) Fri May 23 1997 14:15

I'm in a bit of a dilema here, and I've got three weeks to find
    something.

When Alycia was born, I received an offer in the mail from a local
photographer, Robert's photography, that if I bring her in at 3 months,
6 months, 9 months, and 12 months, to have her pictures taken, they
will automatically give me a beautiful panel with one of each picture
in it, and across the top it will say "Alycia's first year".

Yes.. that's the whole deal. All I have to do is pay the sitting fee.
I don't need to order anything. So, what's the problem?

He has asked that for each session she wear something solid white, with
nothing on her feet. I've had no problem finding something for the 3
month picture and the 6 month picture. But I'm having an AUFUL time
finding something in solid white (a few patel flowers are ok to have)
in size 12 months or 18 months! I've hunted everywhere!

Here's the places I've tried so far:

The Solomon Pond Mall (all of the children's stores in there)
Searstown (including Sears, Bradlees, and JCPennys)
    The Worcester Common Outlets
    Marshalls
    K-Mart
    TJmax
    Caldor
    Cribs n Bibs (in Leominster)
The Kids Boutique (in K-mart plaza in fitchburg/leominster)

    Anyone have any other suggestions??

    Thanks

    Holly

1286.1Kids R Us/DecellesSUBSYS::DELEOFri May 23 1997 14:309
I don't know where you're located but in Nashua, NH (near the Pheasant
Lane Mall) is a Kids R Us clothing store. They usually have quite a
   selection.

There is also Decelles (sp ??) at Old Shrewbury Village in Shrewsbury, Ma
at the junction of Rt.9 and Rt.20.

   Good luck !

You could also try Rachelle's in Westboro...on Rt9..in the old
    Bradlee's Plaza...

1286.3Pale colors work too!DAGWUD::UMBRELLOFri May 23 1997 16:5923
    Holly,

I did the same thing with both my kids - took the offer from
Robert's Photography for the panel. Which, by the way is
well WORTH it. They are excellent (especially with kids)!!

Anyways, they do let you use pale colors such as pink, blue,
yellow......which is what I did for both the 9 and 12 month
    photos.

I live in Leominster and bought most of my outfits at Bibs'n
    Cribs.

If you live near me why don't you stop over and I would be
more than willing to lend you the outfits I used. OR, at
least take a look at my pictures to see how they came out
    and then you decide.

My system is going down in a few minutes, so if you want
to call me at home (I'm home all weekend, except for an
occasional trip to the store). 508-534-5856

Off the subject, but you reminded me Holly. For Angeline's
two year picture, I put her in a white linen peasant dress
that my Mom brought back from Mexico. It had an wide, off
the shoulder (elastic) neckline with ruffles trimmed in white
satin ribbon and white lace. Really beautiful dress.

I requested the white background and white rocking chair.
All that white just enhanced her already big blue eyes.

I wanted her to be barefoot in the picture. You cannot beleive
the comment and critique I got from the photographer!!! He's
generally a snippy, condenscending turd anyways...but he was
all kinds of put out that I wanted to photograph her barefoot.

Hey, I figured he'd have to get over it, I'm sick of him
anyways. I was just firm and said, "this is the look I want".
At one point he wrapped white malibu around her feet and I just
walked right over and took it off.

Her picture is nothing short of a showpiece. It came out gorgeous
    and everyone loves the barefeet!

(Let me know when Alycia's almost two! :-)

Gee.. he really wouldn't like the pictures we had taken, then. They're
very tasteful, but it's a naked baby sitting in a white basin with a
white picture next to her. Solid white background. They're georgeous.
Nothing's "showing". In fact, I've scanned it in and I'm using it as
my wallpaper. She's adorable (but I"m a little biased).

1286.6Try The Velvette Goose...WMOIS::ALEXANDER_DDon't stop believingWed May 28 1997 16:4816
I had my twin girls pictures done at Roberts too..and I get alot of
complements on them too....they realy do a great job. I got thier
3 and 6 month outfits at The Velvette Goose in Gardner (there is also
one in Holden) and I got thier 9 month outfit at Sears with an adorable
hat to match from Bib's n' Cribs and the 12 month outfits came from
Rochels in Westboro. All the outfits where mostly white, but all did
have a little pink rose or just a tiny bit of pink in them...and yes,
they were barefoot in allof them...that is part of the beauty of the
    photos.

Now has anyone ever been to In Voug for photos...I just saw the most
    adorable shots from them!

    Good luck,

    Deb (Jordan & Brooke's Mommy)
1286.7a white PITCHER not picturePOWDML::VENTURAGreat Goodley Moogley!Wed May 28 1997 17:555
I just re-read my note. It should say it's a naked baby sitting in a
white basin and a white PITCHER next to her.

Well, I went to Priceless Kids this afternoon at lunch and found a
number of different dresses (they didn't have anything a few weeks
ago). I bought a onesie type outfit with frills at the legs and a
little pink rose on the front. It's really cute. Actually, I might go
get one of the white dresses they had in size 24 months for her 12
month picture, just so I know I have it!

    Thanks everyone for the help.
