Has anyone ever sent their child to a summer program called College Gate? Its an academic based program offered out of the Fenn school in Concord. (there are other locations as well) We are looking at the K-3 program. It runs for three weeks. Thanks, Teri

Seeing the title, I can only think of political scandals, ie Watergate. Wonder if the school was names pre-Nixon... ;-) Charlie

I do know from the literature that you must submit confirmation that you child has a certain IQ to get into this program.

Instead of the IQ test they will take a recommendation from the childs teacher. My teacher filled in a "form" saying where her ability is for such and such. It was actually informative (I'm not crazy about the "new" report cards). We decided not to go because it runs for three weeks. I don't want to fill up her summer with too much structure. I also don't know anyone who's gone or is going from my area. They had a few programs that sound wonderful. We had been interested in book writing, knights and castles, theatre, and space. It is an "elite" program no doubt. They have a program for older children too which runs out of Concord and Worcester. |
