| I'm real interested to hear what you find out from the Post Office,
because my guess is they don't "approve" any. I don't see how sending
a book (an item of $ value) is any different than asking people to
send money. Even chain letters which only request you "keep the
chain going" are illegal, I believe.
Let us know what you find out - and the results if you choose to
participate! (But don't add me to your list! :) )

| My daughter also received a chain letter yesterday which states that it was
started in 1987 by 6 kids in Germany and that if it continues past 1996
it will be in the Guiness Book of World Records (her name included). The
last line states that it has been approved by the U.S postal service as
an educational game for kids.
m skeptical and would love to hear the results of your call to the post office.

| I participated in this chain letter last year for my 3 year old. Then
I never received anything and decided to call the Post Office. They
said any chaing letter, any type at all, is not approved by the Post
Office because chain letters are not legal in most states. They said
that you particpate in these letters at your own risk and do not
encourage participation.

... HEY! My boyfriend's daughter got that same chain letter MONTHS ago - I'm
glad to hear it's still going!! Hers said it was approved too - we saw no
harm in it, so kept it going. Sending a book could get pricey I would think.

I would think that the list of names, after 9 years, would be as long as the
Guiness book itself!!

We got this chain letter back in 87 or 88. I sent a book
along to the top child on this list.
WE on the other hand, never got any.
