1058.4Free period?LETHE::TERNULLOWed Nov 29 1995 09:2212
	Re .2

	Irene,

	What is the Disney "free period"? Is cable running a special
	now. We get the Disney channel with the basic service that we
	pay for, but is it free now? I guess I can just try it when
	I get home and see if we have it.

	Thanks,

1058.5Forgotten Christmas ShowNAC::WALTERWed Nov 29 1995 09:238
    Does anyone remember the Christmas show with the "Heat Mizer"? It was
    about Mother Nature having two sons, a heat and an ice and they were
    fighting.

    This show hasn't been on, to my knowledge, for over a decade. I would
    give anything to watch it again, or find a tape of it.

    This is my favorite show, its called "Year with out a Santa Clause"
    Its premise is no-one belived in Santa, and he was sick. He decided to
    take the year off, etc. The 2 elves and raindeer take off to look for
    the spirits of X-mas and then come Heat Mizer and Snow Mizer w/Mother
    Nature....

    The Year Without a Santa Clause... I bought a tape of it a couple
    of years ago at Strawberries.

    My husband found a listing of all the Xmas specials on this season
    and that one is only on the Disney Channel.

    Disney is running a free channel through the weekend, at least on Time
    Warner Cable. Gives folks a chance to watch it and decide if they
    want to spend the money.

    The listing was in last Sundays Providence Journal. No time to
    type it in but I can bring it from home and fax it to you to
    type in yourself. I'm only faxing it to one person... so if
    I fax it to you you have to type it in. Otherwise, I'll send
    a copy interoffice mail.

    Karen

    P.S... remind me if I forget ... I can never remember to bring
    stuff from home!

1058.14Lambchop's Hannukah specialDELNI::CHALMERSTue Dec 12 1995 11:169
    Did anyone happen to tape Lambchop's Hannukah (sp?) special that was on
    PBS this week? The kids had wanted to watch it, but I screwed up on the
    date/time and we missed it. If possible, I'd like to borrow the tape
    for a couple of days. ALternately, has anyone seen this at a video
    store?

    Thanks in advance.

1058.15Also looking for Chanukah specials to watchALFA2::CAISSIETue Dec 12 1995 12:5915
    RE: 14

    We also wanted to watch Lambchop's Chanukah special. It was advertised
    in newspaper and on the internet as being on this week, but we didn't find
    it listed in our TV guide for any night this week. We get the Boston and
    New Hampshire PBS stations. If you know when it will be aired, or if you
    have a video we could borrow, please let me know.

    If you hear of any other Chanukah specials on TV, please post them
    here.

    Thanks!

1058.16PERFOM::WIBECANHarpoon a tomataTue Dec 12 1995 14:0910
We watched the Lambchop's Chanukah special; it was on Sunday at noon on WGBH in
Boston, and was listed in the Boston Globe TV booklet, at least. It was an
hour long, interspersed with two or three pledge nudges, so I suspect a
commercial tape would run about 30 to 45 minutes. We enjoyed it. Sorry, we
didn't tape it.

The little story in the TV booklet about the show said that Shari Lewis asked
Pat Morita to be in the show, and he said, "Sure, I'm half Ju, half Jitsu."

    Well I do not get Disney yet so I bought the "Year Without Santa "

    tape at Suncoast video for $12... They had a million holiday

    tapes so the previous noters who were looking for lambchop might

    have luck there (unless it is brandy new.?)

    I couldn't believe the tapes even down to TV shows xmas specials
    IE: Bob Newhart Xmas episode, Bewitched...etc...

    	 I love capitalism!

    	merry xmas!

    The Grinch was on Thanksgiving night and that Sunday night also. I
    don't think that it will be on again, but then again I could be wrong.

    You're in luck!
    I saw in the tv paper that "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" is on
    tonight (Dec 13) at 8pm on one of the Turner channels (TNT or TBS).

    TNT tends to show the Grinch a number of times. I know it was on this
    past weekend. Just check your television guide under TNT's listings.

1058.22-The Ginch Airs Tonight STOWOA::CMARTINWed Dec 13 1995 12:258

      The Grinch is on tonight at 8:00 pm on TNT. I have been taping all
      of the Christmas shows with my 2 daughters (4 & 7). They enjoy
      watching them all year round (Sometimes I do, too)
      The Grinch is my favorite!

1058.23please if anyone did tape Shari Lewis...RDVAX::HABERsupercalifragilisticexpialidociousWed Dec 13 1995 13:0816
    If anyone did tape the Shari Lewis special, I'd be interested in
    borrowing the tape.

    All of the newspaper promos I saw for it said it was going to be on PBS
    on Dec. 11, so I never thought to check Sunday's listings...until late
    that night my husband noticed it'd been on at noon. Then Monday's
    Boston Globe said it'd be on at 3AM Tuesday morning, so we set a tape.
    Needless to say that didn't work either. And I forgot to ask any
    family members in other states to check.

    <sigh> there are so few Chanukah specials ever that I didn't really
    want to miss this one.

    Thanks

1058.24Chanukah Special on the RadioCPCOD::JOHNSONA rare blue and gold afternoonWed Dec 13 1995 14:075
This isn't TV, but it is a Chanukah special ... WGBH radio (87.9) has
Chanukah program on this Sunday afternoon. I think it starts at 3:00,
but I'm not positive about the time. Its mostly stories and music I think.

    Hey Sarah, mine too, so last year I started a tape called the holiday
    tape and I tape the shows for the girls and when ever there is a new
    show I add it to the tape, the girls watch it all year long and I don't
    get a fuss at bedtime that they are going to miss THE show.

1058.27Big-butt cat took care of that!HOTLNE::CORMIERFri Dec 15 1995 09:024
    Yeah, well, since the cat knocked the VCR off the TV last year, we have
    been unable to record anything. Good idea, though. If they watch them
    all year long, do they still get excited to see them at Christmas time?
