| | Thanks for the pointer to the Web site--the list of particpating stores,
etc is useful. Unfortunately, I'm still pretty confused about the various
membership options (e.g. the TV fund-raising said $80 for Kids club, the WWW
said $60). So I'm going to get brave & just call & see if I get a
knowledgeable rep, cuz I don't want the details to get in the way
of finally making a donation.
I also know I've bought those Entertainment coupon books before & never
used them, so wondered if others had votes on whether these particular
discounts were really useful,etc.
Thanks again

| | Pam-
I too have a son who is in a major "fire-fighting-infatuation-stage".
The latest edition to our video collection is a fire trucks video
from the "Hard Hat Harry" series. The video is shows and explains
all of the different fire trucks, their uses, and shows them in
operation. My son ABSOLUTELY loves it. We've watched in about
800 times in the last few weeks! If you're interested I can
   send you the information.
p.s. The "Hard Hat Harry" series also has videos about construction
equipment, the space shuttle, police cars, trains, etc...

Is this the video set that is advertised on TV, etc for $4.95+S&H?
"Real Life Giant Construction Equipment for Kids" & "Real Life
Fire Trucks for Kids" featuring "Hard Hat Harry" is the name I have.
I ordered this for my youngest son for Christmas and was worried
that it might be junk. I'd be happy to hear that it isn't!

I borrowed the Construction video from my library last summer. My almost
    2 1/2 year old son is a car/truck/police car/school bus addict. He
plays with the big Tonka trucks at day care and the little matchbox
type at home all the time and when he's not playing he's talking about
them. However, he was really scared in several parts of the video. I
think the loud noises terrified him most. He loves all this stuff from
a distance but won't go near a real fire truck, or big truck. My fire
department recently had an open house and while Alex would look at the
trucks he wouldn't consider getting on it or going in the cab. I figure
he'll move on from this stage by 3 so I'll hold off buying some. I thought
the quality of the construction video was pretty good. It's no
Hollywood production but they are priced right and I think that the
kids who are interested in this type stuff will love them.

Jonathan got the "Hard Hat Harry" construction tape and fire engine
tape for his b.day. The fire engine tape was ca-ca from the word go,
and eventually the VCR ate it - which was REALLY bad, since he *LOVES*
fire engines, and was about jumping to the ceiling the few mins we DID
    manage to see.

The construction one is really cool - but it's long .... an hour of
dump trucks, bull dozers and all SORTS of stuff. I like it, and
Jonathan and the other 2 boys LOVE it!! And that Barrier Mover is
about the coolest piece of equipment I've EVER seen!!

Hey - and it came with a poster of Hard Hat Harry .... not a bad
    looking guy (-;  ...so we were all pleased.... (-;

| | I wouldn't be suprised if they air the Barney episodes more than once.
He is on every day on Channel 2 at 8am and then again at 2:30 and on
    Sundays.

I thought the tapes were specially taped for videos until I saw one of
the tapes that my daughter has air on TV. You spend all this money to
buy the videos when they are just going to be on TV anyway.

Oh, btw, I did see that episode with the firefighter - BJ and the gang
crawling on the floor sniffing for smoke. But I'm pretty sure if was
    after June.

    Anyways,
