| Don't have directions, but don't forget that Digital offers an employee
discount. I think you have to get the tickets ahead of time.

| If you're from Fitchburg, the Fitchburg childrens library has a free
pass for a family of 4 that you can use.

| We've been to the Children's museum a couple of times (with company,
before Andy was born, so we're due for another visit!). Each time,
we ended up using public transportation... You might find it easiest
(and probably cheaper than parking) to get as far as a T stop, and take
a train, trolly, or taxi.

| The Children's Museum is on Congress Street, off Rt 93 South. There are
parking lots across the street (I believe we paid to park).
Check your local public library - if it is like the Worcester MA
library, they have a free pass, which can be taken out for a day, and
allows up to 4 people to go to the Children's Museum for $1 each. Quite
a savings over the regular pricy admission.
Also - go when the museum opens - by 11:30 it's jammed.

Tickets purchased through DEC usually include directions to the museum.
Have Fun!

| I just went last week - courtesy of a library pass. The museum opens
at 10 which was when we arrived. It was quite crowded by then and by
the time we left at noon is was crazy. We went on Sunday and the free
curb parking was gone when we got there. The nearby lots were $6.
The museum gives recorded directions if you call. It is the Congress
Street or South Station exit off South East Expressway. On Congress
Street go over bridge and it is right there on the left.

910.9 | for a 5-year-old? | BRAT::JANEB | See it happen => Make it happen | Fri Jul 28 1995 10:44 | 12 |
| Which is likely to be more fun for a 5 year old: the Children's Museum
or the Science Museum, in Boston?
My friend is bringing her 5 year old to Boston for one day and I
recommended the Children's Museum over the Science Museum - now I'm
having second thoughts.
What is your experience?
Thanks,
Jane

| My 5 year old loves the Museum of Science. You know, they have a discovery room
for kids near the planetarium and omni theater, too. And she loves the
Children's Discovery and Science Discovery Museums in Acton. We haven't been
to the Children's Museum in Boston for a long time, so I can't compare. But
we bought memberships last year in the Discovery Museum and Museum of Science
and the New England Aquarim, and our daughter has loved going to all of them
repeatedly.
