| | I believe there's some information on this (maybe a paragraph
or two) in the What To Expect When You're Expecting book.
In the edition I read, it was near the back in one of those
chapters about when things don't go as expected. From what
I recall (and this could be incorrect), a mole pregnancy
is a growth but not an "organized" one that develops organs.

| | From several texts at home [including "What to Expect When You're
Expecting"] I've seen a molar pregnancy described as one where the
placenta never develops properly into something that can function.
Instead of a normal placenta, what forms is a collection of grape-like
nodules of granular tissue. This structure will not support fetal
growth for a variety of reasons -- most notable is that the transfer of
nutrients across the placental barrier is grossly diminished to absent.

As you were told, it is not common.

| | My girlfriend's sister had a mole pregancy. She had a D&C went
through some type of treatment and had to wait about six months or
a year before conceiving again. She went on to deliver a healthy son
    and daughter (two separate pregnancies).

Some of you might of just read about my D&C and the trouble I had with
my Dr. He called me lastnight to inform that I had a mole pregancy.
He also told me I had to have my blood work done every week, and if my
hormon does not get to 0 - I *might* have to have Chemo (that is a
worst case seniro) the mole was benine(sp).

I called my primary Dr, I want to talk to him about all of this and I
have a ton of questions - I am awaiting his call. Does anyone else
have any more info on this?

    Thanks

| | Lou,

I am so sorry about what you have gone through. I would
encourage you to ask your primary doctor for a referral
to another OB/GYN for further treatments.

    Pam
