I can't help you with that, BUT, if you want to somehow "date" your
idea, the best/cheapest thing to do is to write down your idea, then
seal it well, and send it to yourself via Registered mail (the one that
requires a signature), and DON'T open it. This will "prove" the date
of your idea, by the postmark. If it's ever under controversy, you
leave it sealed, and then only open it "in court" or someplace where it
won't be disputed whether it was already opened or not.
I can't find a listing for it, but the US Office of Patents, I believe
is the name of who you're looking for.

| I would think your best best would be to get in touch with the US
Patent office. My daugher's godfather has a pretty inventive mind
and has come up with several really good ideas over the years. He
patented them all, and even having done so, spent quite a bit of time
and money in court protecting one of his products. He did win in the
end, couldn't have done it without being protected by the patent.
