		Thick Placenta

A friend of mine is 19 weeks pregnant and just found out she has
a "thick" placenta.  They are concerned that there is not enough
room for the baby to grow.  They have scheduled an amnio for next
week.  I would like to hear from anyone who has any information about
this condition.  This is her first baby and she is very upset.

	I don't know what a "thick" placenta is. I had a huge placenta, the biggest that the nurses had ever seen. It didn't hurt the baby; he was 8 lbs, 12 oz and very healthy overall. Of course, I was huge. :-} Carol
