| Hi Peter,
There's plenty of CO beaches along the French Med coast, especially around the
St Tropez area, around the peninsula to the south of the town (I recommend
this bit of the coast highly - was there a couple of years ago - wonderful
sandy beaches and clear, warm water). They shouldn't be too far to drive from
Valbonne.
Not sure about the Annecy area, though it shouldn't be more than a couple of
hours to the Med from there.
Munich has an official CO area in the main park in the centre of the city
(called the Englischer Garten - don't know why!). I believe that there are also
several other CO areas at some of the lakes in the area as well, though I
don't know the details. There are also many clubs in this area.
I would strongly recommend getting a copy of the world guide before you
travel - you will then be able to contact the clubs before you go to establish
whether it's OK to visit, and obtain directions. The guide has the telephone
no's /addresses of many clubs in both the Munich and Cote D'Azur areas, and
also lists where to find beaches etc.
You could also get a copy of 'Free Sun Beaches' and 'Inland Free Sun' by
Phil Vallack (I've posted the address somewhere else in the conference,
though I can't find it right now!). These have great directions on how to find
the beaches and many clubs in Europe, much better on directions than the world
guide, though the world guide has greater international coverage.

| Rob,
Thanks for the suggestions, I'm not sure if I can obtain a World Guide before I
leave Australia, but I'll give it a try.
I was hoping to contact some local naturists, visiting these places is much
nicer with friends, as I found when visiting the New England area are few years
ago (thanks again folks). I also don't fancy trying to talk my way into a
club, without an introduction, as a single male, in a language I don't
understand.

| I found that when I was in Munich, even though I speak reasonable
'conversational' German, most people speak English at least as well as I
speak German, and a lot speak it very fluently (in Germany, I believe that it
is mandatory to learn English in school for something like 8 years!).
Most people I spoke to were happy to try speaking in English, if I couldn't
work out how to say it in German (I did try as often as possible to speak
German!). I found them much more at ease with a foreign language than most
people would be in England with say German. In England, I would be very
surprised to be able to walk into a major hotel in the centre of London and
be able to find a receptionist that spoke German or French, whereas in
Germany, I could walk into almost any reasonable size hotel, and find most
of the reception staff could speak reasonably fluent English.
In France, you may have more problems finding people that speak English, or
more common, that are PREPARED to speak English, though in the more friendly
atmosphere of a club, I don't imagine that you would have a problem.
Maybe someone in France or Germany can comment on this.
Does anyone have any recommendation of particular clubs in the areas
mentioned?
Rob.
