321.0. "N.E.N.A. Whale Watch" by ELWOOD::CHRISTIE () Wed Jul 10 1991 09:13

    The 5th Annual NENA Naturist Whale Watch will be held on Saturday,
    August 10, 1991. Our boat, the "Cape Cod Clipper", from the Captain
    John's Boat fleet will depart from the STate Pier, adjacent to the
    Mayflower II replica boat, on Water Street at 9:00 AM promptly, for
    an all-day excursion at sea, for whale watching, and clothes-
    optional recreation.

    The cost for tickets is $30 per adult and $15 per child 5-12 years
    of age. Children under 5 years are free. All children must be
    accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

    The entire trip is being handled by Ms. Sandra Perry, The Travel
    Source Travel Agency, 100 Fortin Road, Kingston, Rhode Island.
    For additional information and reservations, contact Sandra at
    (401) 782-3550 or (800) 924-3550. Sandra is supplying both boat
    reservations as well as local accommodations in the Plymouth area
    for those who want them.

    This year's trip will take reservations immediately and through
    August 5, 1991 until we reach a maximum sales of 175 tickets.
    All tickets are on a first-come, first serve only.

    What to bring and not bring:
    Some type of street clothes for getting on and off boat. You may
    wear a swimsuit in harbor waters before we reach the area where
    nudity is allowed (an announcement will be made). Plan to carry
    some type of cover-up with you since tempertures at sea can be
    several degrees lower than on land.

    All persons must wear foot coverings at all times, such as
    snekers. Large objects such as coolers are not allowed. Baby
    carriages are allowed provided they have a good working brake
    system.

    No food or beverages are allowed since the boat provides a full
    galley with food and beverages. This is a local health
    regulation. Obvious such things as baby formula are exempt from
    this of course.

    Agenda:

    As with the past year's trip we will start from the State Pier in
    Plymouth, Mass at 9:00 AM and cruise out beyond the harbor waters.
    Once we are in the open waters, an announcement will be made noting
    that "clothing is now optional", and for the next several hours you
    will be able to enjoy the cruise "au natural." The majority of the
    cruise will be devoted to "whale watching" off the tip of Cape Cod
    on Stllwagen Bank, a well-known feeding area for many whale species.
    At some point in the day's agenda, we plan to make a one-hour stop
    over in Provincetown on the tip of Cape Cod so that passengers can
    do some sight seeing and shopping. The boat will return to Plymouth
    at about 5:00 PM depending on the overall schedule.

    The above is just some of the information I received about the
    whale watch. If anyone in Marlboro, Worcester area would like
    to form a car-pool, please let me know. I would be interested
    in doing that.

321.1We'll be thereFMAN::petersonBob, DEC FortranFri Jul 26 1991 16:525
We're staying at the Guv'nor Bradford Inn Friday night, so we won't
need to carpool. This is my first whale watch and I'm looking forward
to seeing some of them.

321.2Refunds being issuedFMAN::petersonBob, DEC FortranThu Aug 22 1991 15:196
Since the boat turned around after 45 minutes out, due to bad weather,
a refund is being issued automatically. I just spoke with the travel
agency. Me and my partner decided to chance the $60 loss rather than
breakfast and gave up without taking the trip - but we were close
enough to be aboard before the launch. Next year we try again.
