Story in today's Herald. Posted without permission. A 38-year old Haverhill man who allegedly streaked across Route 128 in Burlington wearing nothing but a huge grin was arrested yesterday after causing a truck accident just as dawn was breaking. David G Berube was charged with disorderly conduct and indecent exposure, said State Trooper Martin Conley. Between 4 and 4:30 am, police in Burlington were flooded with reports of a naked man running around in traffic, but he apparently eluded the police cruisers sent to look for him. Shortly before 5 am, State Trooper Francis Hughes came upon an over- turned truck on the highway. The truck driver, Girard Champagne of North Smithfield, RI, explained he had seen a nude man walking along the breakdown lane on Route 128, just off Route 3, Conley said. Champagne said the flasher suddenly sreaked in front of his box truck, which turned over when he swerved to avoid hitting the naked man and struck the center guard rail. Champagne was treated for minor injusies at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. A short time later, Berube allegedly was found in his birthday suit wandering along the breakdown lane just north of the accident. He was identified by Champagne and admitted to Brookline's Bournewood Hospital to undergo psychiatric evaluation. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And what do the American people think after this? People who go nude are NUTS!!!! We better not let people go nude in public, who knows what they'll do next.

I get your point, but this would seem to be a little wierd and not
your normal naturist activity. Its one thing to be nude in one's
home or backyard and quite another to be running around on rte 128
@4AM..
