    For those of you who have been using the Milford Quarries
    for nude sunbathing, please be advised that the local police
    came in today and evicted everyone from the area.  It was not
    known if they cleared out the other sections other than the
    one used for nude sunbathing.  One of the people there was driving
    in (and therefore had a key for the gate from the landowner) and
    he was turned back by the police.  We were warned that it was 
    private land and we would be arrested if we returned.
    
    One of the officers (of 3) said that if there were any questions
    we should call the local police chief.  There was some hint of
    people complaining about something; it could have been the people
    who were shooting off guns in one of the other quarries or they
    could be upset about all the cars parked along the road.

	Did you call the local police chief? Perhaps they're willing to cut folks some slack if they keep to certain rules, like no parking in the area. Most great sunbathing spots (and Milford is spectacular) get shut down when enough people start enjoying them. Ironic, huh.

	I know where Milford is since I drive by own my way home every day. Where is the famous quarry and what is the status of naturism as of 8-14-91?

	I believe that you need a signed permit in order to use the place now. I'm not sure if the permit needs to be signed by the police chief or not. People are using the quarry these days, but they're all still a bit nervous about the whole thing. B.

	Any word on anything happening with the Quarry these days? I read over in rec.nude that someone went in there and and told it was private land and that they should leave. I think they may have wandered over to another area by mistake, but I wanted to know if there were any changes to the status for this year. Benson
