are none for women...

301.9 | not for me | HYSTER::DEARBORN | Trouvez Mieux | Thu Apr 04 1991 09:51 | 17 |
| Well I've seen them in a couple of places: In a store in Montreal, about 4
years ago and in a Diving Shop in Harwich, MA a few weeks ago.
For those of you who haven't seen them, they are made of a semi-transparent,
almost net-like stretch material. They are printed with different patterns to
make them appear less transparent. They are very lightweight. The material
is similar to spandex but with a much more open weave. The finish is not
glossy, but dull.
They are also quite expensive (I think the men's suit was around $40US.) To
me that's a awful lot for a little strip of fabric. Plus, how long will one
of these suits last? Some suits can be destroyed by sitting on a rough
surface.

| I've ordered a couple of suits (one men's one women's) from Overton's
but they've been backordered. Overton's is currently expecting shipment
at the end of this month, although I won't hold my breath. I'll let you
know what I think of them when they finally arrive.

Just out of curiosity, did you order the green print bikini? I'm
asking because it's also being sold in the latest Frederick's of
Hollywood catalog that I got last night in the mail.
..only Frederick's is selling it for $59 (not the $55 that Overton's
sells it for)!!

301.16 | another source for swim-wear | SOLVIT::HODGSON | | Tue May 05 1992 13:59 | 17 |
| Just in case someone is still reading these notes, I have another
source for men's swimwear. It is that time of year again when we all
start to think of the warming sun, and I was re-reading some of the old
notes, so here it is;
It's called Lynn's Lines. They are located in Belmar, NJ 07719 at
P.O. Box 1016. You may want to call(201-974-1741), as I believe they were
in the process of moving.
You can order shorts, briefs, bikinis, thongs or 'slings',
depending on the exposure you can get away with. I ordered a pair of
the Brazilian bikinis and I love them($19). They are made of a
shimmery, unlined Spandex that when wet becomes somwhat transparant.
So if you're really looking to hide yourself, you may want to order
something from Sears instead.
Anyway, it's another source. If you have trouble locating them,
send me a note, and I'll try to help.

| One of the Boston Globe editions this week (I think yesterday's, but
possibly today's or Wednesday's) has an article on sheer swimwear,
including tan-thru. It mostly discussed women's swimwear (and I suspect
high-priced stuff, at that).
