The top pool is usually hotter than the party pool. This year both are down
a few degrees. The party pool was only around 87-88, while the top was
around 92. The top pool rises to the high 90's during late summer/early fall.
That's when it's the best. I've never seen the top pool too cold to enter,
however the two meadow pools along the same stream, at the top of the camping
areas, are probably too cold during the winter.

| When the weather gets cold enough, almost ANY water temp is going to better
than being out of the water. ;-) I've been in all the pools in the dead
of winter at VV, even the meadow pools, and found the temps to be quite
satisfactory. So far, the goosebumps haven't been frozen into permanent
formation. :-)
I remember one winter I didn't wear any robe or other apparrel while walking
between the pools. I was even barefoot and sober! Of course, I didn't
attempt going to the top pool in that condition! .... Not sure I'd do it
again but it was fun at the time. There were only 1 or 2 other sets of
people there during that weekend.

| One nice thing about the pools at Valley View is the temperature.
When I was there with Judy and her husband, Bob, we soaked in there
for 4 hours and it never felt too warm that we got tired from it.
The cool mountain air and the warm water made it perfect for staying
all day if we didn't get hungry and if the sun didn't go down.
The only problem is getting out; it's COLD! The breeze made it very
cold, so a thick robe is perfect for the occasion.

| Have a good time. I was there for two days last week. If you are planning an
excursion to the top pool, check with Neil or Terry. The temperature was down
to 79 deg. due to the runoff. It usually doesn't warm up until mid-summer.
Wish I could go with you.
