206.0. "Cancer Self-Check" by HPSTEK::SHERMAN () Fri Nov 10 1989 10:48

Cancer Screening, a grass-roots, do-it-yourself way to help your family
     stay health.

I provided what I called a "Cancer Screening Center" for a group of
people at the TRI-STATE gatherings in Pennsylvania last year. I
provided blank body maps, and showed people how to fill them in and
then use them. I planned it, originally, for husbands and wives so they
could follow-up at home on a regular basis thereafter. In two days I
processed about 125 people, single and married. Everyone took this very
seriously and I found much comfort in the trust that these beautiful
     people placed in me.

I hope that the maps served them in good stead. I simply sought to have
everyone of them live long enough to spoil their grandchildren
"rotten." ... even their great-grandchildren. Somehow, I believe that
their love for each other will make it work.

Again this year I continued this project with the Tri-State Sun Club
gathering in Penna., and have updated the body maps to (hopefully) make
them more useful. Even though the weather was bad, and we had to
change from our beautiful outdoor location to one in the "Rec Hall" we
had a good turn out. We added Lime Disease information to our activity
which kept us busy sequaying from Cancer to Lime and back.

We are NOT doctors. We do NOT diagnose. All we are doing is try make
people more positive about following the instructions you've all seen
     in the pamphlets.

Remember, these maps are to let you write down and have available the
kind of information you need to detect changes which may point to
     cancer:

     Changes in color
Changes in Texture (surface continuity, or
     smoothness)
Changes in shape (from symmetry to "grotesqueness", for example)
Changes in size (perhaps larger than the proverbial 1/4 inch)

We show you how to identify what we call a "safe" mole, and how to
write down the departures from the safe state. Thus you have something
to show the doctor. Then, each month thereafter, you can compare what's
actually there with what WAS there on the date you filled out the map.
You will, therefore have a better idea of the amount of change. What
you do with that information is up to you. You are responsible for your
     own health.

Mapping is easy, especially if you have someone else to help you. This
is why this process is a natural for husbands and wives. We usually
say "Couples with a true, long-term" commitment."

Love is an important tool. You should exploit it to the fullest.

Again: I will gladly send copies of the body map and the "mole
measuring device" to anyone who will send me a mailing address. If you
plan a Government Mail response, please send a stamped self-addressed
envelope. There is no charge, except for the stamp!

     Kindest regards,

     Stan/Sherman

I am able to place another face with another name! Stan Sherman!

If you haven't seen the latest issue of "N" Nude and Natural, be on the look-
out for it. We received ours in the mail yesterday. Stan has an article in
it about Skin Cancer Screening. Even has a couple pictures of him!

Looks like a great article! Haven't taken the time to read it yet, will in
the next couple days. I opened up the envelope with the magazine in it late
last night after a day of (clothed) rafting on the Arkansas River.

Stan, thanks for taking the time to write and submit the article. You will
reach so many people with such important information. Congratulations on
getting published!

Judy

P.S. FYI - I'm not able to get into GENRAL this morning. That is why I'm
using this account....
