Has anyone here ever tried Block Island for sunning and bathing? I was talking to a co-worker about Moonstone and he said if I liked Moonstone, I would really enjoy Block Island. He said there were miles of beach, lots of cliffs and plenty of private/isolated spots. Although neither of us spoke of nude bathing, it was obvious that we were both eluding to it. (Funny how hard it is to break the verbal barrier in discussing this with people...) If anyone here has gone to Block Island, please let me know what you thought of it. It sounds like a nice spot with clothes, but it would be great without! _Melanie

Yes, I was just there for Memorial Day Weekend. I sailed over from Newport for the long weekend and it was great. The beaches on the east and South side are great. As far as going al-la natural, if I was with a date I would think it's possible. Most of the beaches are isolated and there are lots of nice areas. I plan on sailing again to Block Island Labor Day weekend. I think it's Rhode Islands best kept secret. If your comming from Mass. to Rhode Island go down to Point Judith. There is a ferry that you can take for about $6. Make sure you make hotel reservations, as rooms are scarce and run about $65 up a night. Enjoy! frank.

I've never seen any nude people or been nude there myself, but I have fished on and around it for yellowfin a few times. Seems private enough that nobody would bother you if you went naked. Tim
