News brief from Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph -- copied without permission Nudists streak from explosion: Three hundred people left their clothes behind as they fled a nudist camp in Devore, Calif., when a propane gas tank exploded, igniting a fire that injured two people and damaged several buildings, authorities said. Residents of the Tree House Fun Ranch were nude when the fire broke out Monday afternoon, said the San Bernardino County Fire dispatcher Martha Pfrommer. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I also heard this on the radio this morning while driving to work. The local guys relating this 'news' story said "Can you imagine having 300 naked people running at you trying to get away from the fire?" I guess that could be shocking to some people! ;-)! Judy

re : .1 One of my co-workers told me that they heared on TV that France has now out lawed topless and nude sun bathing on public beaches. Has anyone Partially true. Nude sun bathing has been outlawed in St. Tropez as of about 2 weeks ago. This law affects St. Tropez only. Of course, one may still wear a string in St. Tropez and be totally "legal". There is NOTHING to support the rumour of outlawing topless sunbathing. If they outlaw topless sunbathing in France, they'll probably have to trash 50% of all TV commercials. The French *love* showing breasts to sell soap, shampoo, perfume, washing liquid for delicates, fabric softener, skin oils/cremes, washing machines, ....... 8*). Not to worry. Besides, St. Tropez is too much of a nightmare to visit in the summer months due to the crush of tourists. I just hope this isn't the start of a conservatist trend. Lillian

Has anyone In "The Independent" the report said that in certain areas of the South of France statutes had been passed to outlaw total nudity with a 75 franc on the spot fine however topless bathing was still permitted. So much for French Liberty now what about egality and fraternity... tending to zero? Sigh... Ian.
