What was I thinking...how did I feel?  Humm...that's an awfully long time ago. 
My 1st time skinny dipping was with another couple.  We had hiked to a river
in Colorado and decided to go 'swimming' but none of us had brought suits 
along, shock!  So us girls went behind a bush and took off our clothes.  Can't 
remember what the guys were doing.  Anyway, we crept into the water, keeping 
as low a profile as possible.  (How stupid this sounds now!)  

Come to think of it, I think we had suits...because we had towels when we got 
out.  Must have been a 'daring' day for us all.  Anyway, when we were out in 
the water, we watched a couple fishermen go by on the opposite bank.  One was
dressed in bright orange.  When he saw we didn't have clothes on, he sat up on 
a high bank with a good view of where we were.  We noticed him, trying to hide
behind a bush that didn't have many leaves on.  When the other girl and I got
out of the river (burr...cold!) we turned around, with not a stitch on, and
waved at this fisherman.  He slowly retreated to the bottom of the hill.

After drying, us girls kept our tops off and hiked back to the vehicle.  Can't
really say if I had any feelings of embaressment or not.  All I know is we had 
fun!  

As the naturist experiences multiplied, I'd say less was thought of regarding
what other people might be thinking about us.  That is the main thing I 
probably thought about!  My gosh!  What will other people think?

    You Need a Wrist Wallet:
    
    The business of being locked out of the car is a constant threat
    to my comfort, too!  While at Atika I purchased a wrist wallet,
    and the first item in it was my spare key.  Then I added a few quarters
    (for cokes), then I added meal tickets.  The wrist-wallet was getting
    thicker and harder to bend around the wrist.  But it still had the
    key safely inside.  I then added my name add cottage number just
    in case I managed to lose the wrist-wallet.
    
    Neat way to indicate your point of view in the OP* Beach situation.

    My first time that I can remember getting naked, in the
    day time, with a group of adults who happened to be of
    the other sex was about 10 years ago. I had skinnydipped
    at night, or with some family members before...but that's kind
    of different in my book. Well anyways I was apple picking
    in Maine at the time, with a crew of radical alternative
    no-nuker/save the whales/femminist/granola crunching men
    and women from around the country. Yes Hippies!
    
    After a days work...I was riding in a van back to our
    campsite...which was a TeePee in the woods, with 7 other
    women. They all decided lets go swimming it's a hot day,
    and we all felt like a refreshing swim would be just what
    we needed. So to make a long story shorter...I find myself
    naked in the middle of 7 other women at the local swimming
    hole...since I was the lone male of the group...it didn't
    matter to the other women if I was (naked) too! *blush* 
    (Just Kidding!) But that was my introduction...which was
    really kind of an initially intense situation...that 
    transited over to a nice introduction into being free and
    naked and all those wholesome kinds of experiences you look
    back on and smile about.

    After I got out of the Navy a bunch of us, guys and gals, (8 to 12 of
    us) would go skinny dipping at a dam in Charlton Ma. It started when a
    couple invited us to join them (on a dare) and it just grew.
         It lasted just about the whole summer. We would only go at night,
    and I would pray for a full moon. What the hell, thought id,e tell the
    truth. So now I am a peeper,voyeur,or what ever. But one thing I know
    it was fun. 
          One night when we were skinny dipping, anouther car pulled up and
    a couple that none of us knew came down to the waters edge , saw we
    were naked, talked a bit, and took off thier bathing suits, and joined
    us.

    Oh yes !  "WE" did *play* in the water.
    
    I know this is not naturism, as you all know it, but please note I am
    an *outsider*.

    We did it for the * thrill * of it, and not to get close to nature.
    
    When I am in the Maine woods hunting, with a ton of clothes on, I
    am as close to nature as one can get.
    
    I don't have to be naked to enjoy nature.
    
    On the outher hand, I would love to get naked on a warm sunny day and
    enjoy the beach, woods, and the like.
    
    I have never done this...........but I will.............some day.

    Well, I don't think I'm into naturism to get close to nature.
    I just think it's fun and more comfortable.  When a bunch of us
    went to Solair last weekend, we spent most of the time playing
    volleyball or hanging out (a pun? :-) ) at the whirlpool/hot tub.
    I didn't see anyone "communing with nature".  At the beach, I would see
    plenty of people sleeping while working on their tans.  They're still
    naturists.

    Hmmm!! My first 'nude' experience wound up being a total fiasco.
    We were camping at D.A.R. park in Goshen, Ma.. It was around midnight
    with a full moon on a hot summer night. My lady and I decide to
    go skinny dipping at the pond. We walked down to the pond and found
    four other people already there. There was three young ladies on
    the beach, two about 14 or 15 yrs. old and one about 18 or 19. The
    two younger ones were doing cart wheels on the beach, just generally
    horseing around actually. The other was sitting and watching her
    boy friend out in the water. We started talking to her but, she
    seemed a little nervous.My lady and I decided to sit for awhile
    until everyone else left.
    
    The guy in the water starts to come ashore and his girl had a shxx
    hemorage. It seems that they had the same idea we had. Unfortunately,
    between his going into the water and her getting undressed and into
    the water, the two teeny boppers showed up. The guy didn't like
    being in the water alone so he came out. The two T.B.'ers just stood
    there and stared at the guy. He and his girl had a minor little
    skirmish over his coming out like that. He just said he doubted
    if he had anything they hadn't seen before. By the looks of the
    faces on the T.B.'s...I don't think they had.
                     
    He, his lady, I and mine kidded around about that being what we
    had come down there for. We were going to all hop in after the T.B.'s
    left but, that produced a problem. The T.B.'s wanted to join in
    the fun and stood there discussing which one was going to take their
    clothes off first.
    
    I knew that someplace, there was a father who would NOT find the
    situation humorous and my lady and I decuded it was better to scram
    at that point. I have this problem with irrate fathers, jail,
    contributing to the delinquency of a T.B., statutory rape and about
    six million other little problems.
    
    We never did make into the pond that night!!

For the past few years I would walk around the back yard very late or very
early in the day.  If I was home by myself I would stay nude in the house.
It was not until this past May at Bonny Doon Beach that I really went nude 
in public.  I was in Santa Clara for two weeks and went to the beach a few 
times before I got up the nerve to take off my close.  I was great.  I stayed 
for about three hours and sat back by the cliff.  After I got down on 
the beach and the close off, I felt very comfortable.  Having the sun and the 
wind all over was great.  I did not want to leave but know if I stayed much 
longer I would have gotten baked.  I did burn in a few other spots the sun
does not normally shine but not bad.  

While, I will be back out to Santa Clara for a week starting on Aug. 19 and
plan on get out to Bonny Doon Beach by 2:30 - 3:00.  Hoping also to be able
to get down there just about every day.  Maybe I'll meet some of you there.

    My first experience was yesterday at SOLAIR.  It was easier than I
    expected.  The strangest part was total strangers waving and saying
    "Hi".  Being nude didn't bother me.  What did was not knowing 
    anyone there.  I'm sure that will change over time since I plan
    on going several more times over the summer.
