The planets are aligning... My electric razor is about to give up the ghost and Fathers Day will soon be upon us. I'm looking for actual experiences and opinions from anyone who has used a wet/dry electric razor. I prefer to shave in the shower and have often wondered how the wet/dry electric versions compare to the standard electric razor in performance and comfort. Mark

I was very pleasantly surprised to find the Panasonic cordless wet dry was a very good shaver. It shaves very close (second only to a razor, in my experience) and I get 10-12 days use BETWEEN charges. I don't even take the charger with me on vacation. I only used it in the shower once, and it did pretty well, but I've never been very good at shaving without a mirror, so I typically wait till afterwards. My only complaint is that the grill is just slightly too fine. As I start getting a few grays, I often find that one or two aren't picked up because they tend to be thicker than other hair, and won't easily be picked up. They have a number of models. I consider the one with the LCD readout a bit much, but I like the low battery warning light since I often can't tell from the speed when I get into the 4-5 days left range, which is about when it kicks in. jeb

I've often wondered how they can do a good job with a wet beard. A traditional electric does best with a dry stiff beard. What's different about these razors?

They're sealed against water, for one.... I think most use some sort of rotary cylinder cutter. Steve |
