I have a positive story to tell.
My sister and her two kids took a flight on Continental two weeks ago. She
has some dietary restrictions and asked in advance for a fruit cup in place
of the usual airline meal. On the flight, she asked for her special food and
the flight attendant said that there was a mixup and they didn't have any
fruit cups on board. She was able to scrounge enough food from the standard
airline meal to avoid starving. The flight attendant said that Continental
would send them three gift certificates worth $100 each toward a future flight.
Last week, Continental sent them a large fruit basket with a large assort-
ment of fruit and several cheeses. I estimate it was worth $40-$50 retail.
I'm really impressed with this. Continental had a bad reputation in the
late 1980's. I sense that they are really trying to treat their customers
well.
