Hi,

...especially to "Francoise" and "DougO" - (Major contributors to the INFORMIX
notes conference)... 

Could someone (knowledgable) do a sanity check on the following mail that I 
was just copied.

I just got back from Informix HQ office.

The reason why Informix ODS 7.20.UC4 is not orderable is because of BAD CPIO 
FORMAT detected on 2/7/97. This version on D UNIX 4.0 cannot be shipped no 
matter who orders it according to Suan Loke (Informix). Suan Loke explains this 
as using a bad master tape to make shippable copies - these copies did not get 
through the QC test and those shipped out have been recalled.

He has proceeded to order ODS 7.20.UC3 on D UNIX 4.0 instead (only media 
available is on CD-ROM). This is the closest he can get. As the order is placed 
as a PRIORITY order he tells me he may be able to get the CD-ROM on his desk on 
Monday or Tuesday next week. I can then hand-carry it with me when I go to 
Thailand for the Wednesday meeting.

Orapin, I hope this version will do if we cannot locate the patch for Informix 
7/1/3 for D UNIX 3.2f. Any other suggestions?

    The problem with 7.20.UC4 is part of the reason Informix did 7.20.UC5.
    Until this situation came up, I did not know that it does not show up
    in Informix' internal systems as being available for Digital UNIX V4.0.
    Evidently it was only submitted as applicable for V3.2D.  I've asked my
    counterparts to fix that.
    
    Trying to get the right version for this benchmark in Thailand is now
    being handled via email.
