	Hello,

	I am currently trying to configure a Alphaserver to run Informix and 
that has following customer requirements (Datawarehousing application) :

	CPU : 12 x Pentium 133 Mhz or RISC equivalent (they have NCR today)
	Memory : 512 MB
	Disks : 40 GBytes in a raid box
	Tape :DTL able to backup unattended in 3 hours.

	I know we still need more specifics on those requirements to be able 
to size the machine but :

	1. Is there any site where I can get configuration support for 
	Informix on AlphaServer ?

	2. What type of machine do you suggest (AS4100, AS8200, AS8400 ?)

	I don't think your requirements call for an 8200/8400 machine- so I'd recommend you try the rawhide conference at mvblab::alphaserver_4100 for comparable sizing to your requirements. Sadly we have nobody doing an Informix configuration/sizing/tuning guide yet. And I'm not current on the small raid configurations we have out now. DougO
