A friend has had a negative experience with the Sterling Animal
Shelter. Has anyone dealt with this shelter? Thank you.

I adopted one dog and one cat...and turned my sister's
cat in for adoption. My opinion..

pretty good.

Whether your dealing with a kill shelter or no kill shelter...
anytime you bring in a cat/dog for adoption, PLEASE make sure
you understand clearly what the fate of the animal is.
ie..truly no kill, animal will be put to sleep as soon as you
walk out, animal will have 3 days to be adopted etc.
This note is not specific to Sterling...but all shelters. Many
times shelters or rescue leagues do NOT feel the original owner
wants to know the fate of the animal they are giving up, so they
are not upfront unless you specifically ask. (even then..some
are not honest)
A good point to remember is a GOOD no kill shelter is normally
always full and has a waiting list especially during the spring
and summer months.

Sterling asks you right up front when you
bring in a pet if you want to be notified when the pet is adopted.
They sent me a card in the mail about 20 days after I brought my
sister's cat there. I thought that was a neat system
