Conference misery::feline

    ILIW just the sound of my voice makes Skrufy arch his back and
    look sheepishly around for someplace to rub up against (he wouldn't
    rub against *me*, that would mean admitting that my voice gives
    him pleasure)!

    ...Pamina waits until I'm bent over double drying my feet after the
    shower and leaps upon my back to look around and meow.
    
    She hasn't scratched me yet; always jumps with claws in.  And I haven't
    yet laughed so hard as to knock her off.
    

    
    ...Rocky stands up and prances to get his head stroked because I've held
    my hand in just the right place
    
    ...Robin tilts her head and looks at me from across the room, radiating
    "Don't you want to come over here and give me a kiss?"
    
    ...I wake up in the middle of the night and Floyd is curled up on the
    pillow beside me, snoring.
    
    ...Blueberry climbs up in my lap and drapes herself over my shoulder,
    closes her eyes and naps out.
    
    ...I beckon to deaf Merlin with a "come along gesture" and my old buddy
    gets up and follows me for a treat.

    ...Othello, who is still pretty skittish, jumps up on my lap to be
    stroked.
    

    ... any cat does anything. Or almost. Top is as Smokey paws the remote
    to direct it out to Big Buddy Sony to look for something to watch.

    ... I am in the same room with the entire FIRM,and their purr moters
    are in overdrive. 
    
    ... I walk into the living room and see meek Panther grooming the top
    of macho old Jimmy's head, and hearing both of them purring loudly.
    
    ... Arty and Billy cuddled up togeather.
    
    ... they can be spotted deep in concentration while bird watching.
      

    
    Deb reminded me -
    
    ...at dinner time when Floyd tries to herd old Merlin and head butts
    him, sideswipes him and licks the old guy's head.
    
    (but there's an "I hate it when" that goes along with this, because
    Merlin finds Floyd's attention annoying and whacks him for it; telling
    Merlin, "but he loves you Merlin!" does no good, as he can't hear
    me...)

    Every time I go down stairs, Bits comes flying out of no-where, races
    me to the bottom, then waits for me to go back up.
    
    He then stops on every step and demands to be stroked from head to tip
    of tail.
    
    It's a good thing there only twelve stairs, it would take me ages to
    get to the top if there were many more, as he winds himself around and
    between my feet so that I can't move before the stroking.

    ... the kitties curl up into a very round ball of fur and sleep with
    their face smushed into the floor/chair/bed. they look so cute! It sure
    it hard to resist them when they're like that!
    
    ... I love it when we've all slept in late and the cats (in the bed
    with us) complain when we humans start moving around to get out of bed
    (Rascal makes a cute little squeak to say he's very unhappy)
    
    ...I love it when the cats are so glad to see you, they come running
    when you call (and not just because you have food for them!)
    
    ... we wake up and the kitties are sleeping with us, pressed up against
    us. This is also a "I hate it when" because it means I have about 6"
    of bed to call my own and can't move in any direction without
    disturbing the cats, and couldn't do that now, could I?  :^)
    
    As you can tell - it was a good weekend for kitties!

    ...Nicky brings me one of his stuffed cats as a present!  He has no teeth 
    but he can carry a present for me in his mouth using his gums! What a
    sweetheart he is!

    Sam the kitty girl insists on rubbing noses with me...
    
    the cats lick their noses with their long sandpaper tongue...
    they just look so comical...
    
    the weather finally warmed up and the cats get to sunbath
    on the lawn...(they also prefers the hemlock mulch over 
    clay litter, saves me some work!)

    I love it when I shake the box of tartar control snackies in the 
    mornings and Toma and Keesha come running, sit ever so tentative
    and I hand feed them the snacks one at a time. As they approach to 
    grab the snacks from my hand their purr just gets lauder ...

    ....when I'm doing my floor exercises my Princess (Blue Point Siamese
    mix) lays down on the floor next to me and rolls along with me! 
    (Actually - she COULD stand to work on those abs - she's getting pretty
    flabby!)

    ...Sasha gets relaxed enough that she stretches out on her side
    	or back and I get to stroke the fur on her belly.  It's so soft
    	and plush and she doesn't let me do it very often.
    
    ...Audrey talks to me in her adorable Siamese voice
    
    ...Chloe rolls around on her back, playing with the catnip and
    	gives her Himmie chirp...she sounds like a Tribble.  =)
    

    I love it when:
    
    Silver comes running up to me, looks at me with his huge copper eyes,
    lets out one of his inquisitive mewrs, then runs to his toys looking
    over his back to see if I am following.
    
    When Silver is running up and down the hallways just after I've brushed
    his beautiful long fur and it just flows around him.
    
    When Silver is laying on his back with his front paws curled up just
    waiting to be petted.
    
    When Shadow plays hide-and-seek with me (but not at 2 in the morning).
    
    When Thunder comes running to me, jumps into my arms and starts to
    nuzzle.

    ... when Jimmy starts tapping his tail to the beat of TV theme songs.
    He actually  has a good sense of rhythm, and I swear that he purrs to
    the beat as well!

    ....when both cats come in from outside within a minute of my
    	calling!  
    
    ....when they meow on their way to the door just in case I don't 
        see them coming home!
    
    ....when they chase each other all over the house at 100 mph!
    
    ....when Pumpkin tries to lay close to one of the dogs, (but
        not too close)!
    
    ....when they curl up close to me, in the crooks of my body.
    	
    ....when they greet me at the top of my outside stairs as
        soon as I get home from work.
    
    ....when they ask to go out, in the nice weather, instead of
        playing hide-n-seek, especially when I'm running late!
    

    ...I wake up the morning after a relatively cold night and find
       that it was a 5-6 cat night...with Amelia on my pillow, Mac on 
       my left side and Onyx, Joey and Ashlar at various points at the
       foot of the bed and Carrie watching the scene from the open 
       clothes hamper.

When Orville reaches out his paw and taps my chin or hand to let me
know he wants more petting.

When Wilbur snuggles up in a box/basket that's too small for him and
parts of him are hanging over the sides.

When they meow at you from the window when they see you leaving or coming
home.

    Tigger curls up in a tight ball and goes to sleep with one paw covering
    both his eyes.
    
    Tigger sleeps with his head upside down.
    
    Tigger watches for me in the window and runs to meet me at the front
    door.

    ...all the cats come in to do surrogate blanket duty after I take the
       heavy blanket off the bed when spring shows signs of coming in with 
       a vengeance only to have it cool off significantly for two days.
       Thank goodness for warm kitty bodies. :^)

    That would be DYHIW for me...I never sleep when Monty and Blue are
    quiet (in fact I'm out of bed every hour or so) because I know they're
    up to some form of mischief.  Many's the time that I've caught them
    emptying the contents of my kitchen cupbards or shredding toilet rolls.

    ...thanks to Eva's suggestion of covering my rubber plant's base with
    mesh, so Ms. Fur Ball couldn't dig the dirt out of the pot, works!  My
    precious plant has a chance to survive!

    	No problem. I am glad to hear that humans, plants and
    cats are living in peace ;-) Now only I can teach my cats
    not to eat (catch all they want) those rodents...trying
    to get summer cats and carpet to live in peace ;-( Maybe

    I just love it when...
    
    The Princess Panther Jane forgets that she is a VERY dignified Princess
    and rolls over on her back with her front paws tucked under her chin,
    (in a very flirtatious way,) and chirps until I rub her belly.  :-)
    
    When Spots is helping her Daddie get dressed and stands up on her hind
    legs (she looks like an overgrown squirrel,) and grabs his hand with
    both front paws and plops it down on her head!

  I love it when Tatoo jumps up on my chair and lets me pet her.  Even though 
she was only food mooching at first, she now jumps up and stays whether I 
share my dinner with her or not.  (It's been a long two years of trust-building
but she's going to be a lap kitty yet!)  I didn't realize how touching it 
would be to finally break through -- I LOVE this feeling!

When Spike jumps into my bed in the middle of the night and licks my face a 
couple of times and then just leaves.  He must feel I need a kiss every now 
and then.

When Butch and Spike cuddle up together in yin/yan style.

Also when Butch the cat and Obi the log lie on the bed together side by 
side.

    ...I pull up in my parking lot after a long day of work and four of my
    fluffy feline friends are in a different window facing me!  When I
    opened the door to go inside all four of them were waiting for me right
    at the door!

    	Oscar talks outloud (to no one in particular) in one room, than
    another room, first thing in the morning.
    
    	Taila wakes me up by licking my eyelashes.  Actually it's only cute
    the first couple of times.

    .....when I wake up and find Tigger curled up against me sleeping, and
    when I begin to pet him he starts to purr without even moving or
    opening his eyes.  Just lies there enjoying the moment.

    When I start to put the harness on Bits to take him outside.
    
    When I put the first strap around his neck and he gives me a kiss on
    the nose.
    Then I say "Arms up" and he sticks his front legs, way up, so I can get
    the other strap around his middle.
    
    And he never stops purring the whole time.

    ...my cat, Nicky, has dental work done but still brings me one of his
    stuffed toys.  I don't know how he picked the toy up in his sore mouth
    but he did.  His love for me never ceases to touch me!

    ILIW I arrive back in the late hours of the morning (6am) from a week's 
    holiday in Spain to find my two baurmese boys, Monty and BLue, wating
    for me at the door.  They they proceded to keep their tired mom awake
    for another couple of hours with plenty of kisses.

...Beekman suns himself belly up on the deck (his belly is white as snow).

...Moe rubs his head over my feet and licks my toes and leg while I fix his
   food.

...Louie settles onto his paper bag for a nap, using the base of the bag as a
   pillow.

...Sam (who is a tripod and somewhat standoffish) jumps up onto the bed where
   I am reading the Sunday papers, curls his remaining rear leg over mine and
   proceeds to give himself a long and thorough bath.

   Lots of sleeping and eating going on here.

    
    ...Fargas slept last night cradled in my left arm with his cheek
    pressed to mine.
