970.0. "Nephie had a boat ride" by PCBUOA::LPIERCE (Do the watermelon crawl) Mon Jan 15 1996 08:08

My cat Nephie scared the heck out of us yesterday. We were selling our
boat and all 4 cats were inside. Then once the person who bought our
boat was ready to go, Nephie wanted to go outside - so I let her out.

I guess w/in the split second she was out and the boat was pulling out
of the driveway - Nephie jumped in the boat!

Luckly the person who bought the boat, brought along a friend to follow
him home - about 5mi from my house on a busy road (rt117) Nephie
decided to get out - she jumped out of the moving boat on to rt117.

The person following, saw this and she stopped the car and she got out
and chased Nephie until she caught her - then she returned her to me.

Nephie is just fine - not even a limp or sourness.

(Im gald the boat is gone) :-)

I'm so glad that Nephie is OK. What a place for her to decide to stop
and smell the flowers.... Thank goodness the person following the boat
was a true cat person and stayed with Nephie until she was caught and
    returned home.

I'm always terrified when one of my indoor-only kittys gets out because
of the traffic, the dogs, the kids, the woods, etc. They know nothing
    of the big outdoors.

Thanks for a happy ending on this one

What a great story! We see way too many end up the other way, but this is
a wonderful way to start the week.
