MEOWY XMAS

Twas the night before Xmas and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, except for the cats.
The stockings were hung but not quite high enough.
Two tiny little paws pulled them down one-by-one,
And the contents were scattered throughout the whole house.
The tree in the window was beckoning to them,
With lights that were twinkling - Come see, come see.
The cats raced to the tree, each mewing with glee.
The bows were just waiting to be batted around.
And the paper-wrapped gifts made such a nice crinkling sound.
The balls on the tree were just perfect to watch,
As each one went sailing across the whole room,
To a cat just crouching to roll it right back.
The branches were just right for a cat ready to pounce,
On another cat as it went racing right past.
The sound of the tree crashing to the floor,
Sent all the cats scattering to hide and to watch,
The Xmas sun rising and the household awake.
With slippered feet they raced to the room;
And with screams not of delight, but of shock and dismay,
The humans stared at the room and said -
THOSE DARN CATS!! THEY'VE DONE IT AGAIN!!
Xmas morning was here and they sat amidst the debris,
And OOHED and AHHED as they opened their gifts.
But Xmas was over for their four-legged friends.
They'd already had their Xmas the night before,
And all were asleep in their beds dreaming -
Of their very best Xmas and others to come.

to go away.

LITTLE MAMA Scullery Maid, she cleans all the
dishes
