    I have a friend who just lost her cat to (according to the vet)
    toxoplasmosis.  Can anyone shed some light on the disease and how it
    affects cats.  This cat appeared fine, had just been in for a routine
    checkup and suddenly became very ill. The cat was taken to the vets as
    an emergency patient and passed away over the weekend.  Any insight in
    helping us to understand what happened would be greatly appreciated!
    (the vet is not being very helpful at this point)
