| We have had several types of vacs over the years and havn't found one
that really did the job. With 5 easy shedders I have quite a problem.
The best solution I can offer is to use a dust mop after the vacuum,
or a broom with a duster tied over the end. That not only gets the
dust, but the cat hair as well. I find that kitty litter is the
hardest to get up with a vacuum cleaner as it skipps away from the
rotating brush (not that I keep kitty litter boxes on my hardwood
floors, but it always seems to get walked up into the hall from the
celler). A dust mop helps with that as well.
My greatest problem right now is getting the cat hair out from under my
refridgerator, it's one of the new ones with the motor and coils on the
bottom, which aren't easy to get at. Lady Elizabeth has very fine hair
that not only heads right for the nostrils, but tucks itself into
every crevasse and crack and turns to instant felt.
With all the expense and trouble my cats cause I don't know why I put
up with them. May be its the wet paws and wet kisses first thing in
the morning that wins me over.

We use the Rainbow vacuum, the machine uses water as the filter.
All the gunk is collect in a basen were the water is, then you
dump the water and gunk down the toilet and rinse vacuum basen
and your done. The machine works well on both hardwood floors
and carpeted areas. The discharge air is free of dust and other stuff.
You can add a fragrant to the water if you wish. But the main thing
is the house smells fresh and clean. Both of us have notice a big
difference regarding the air quality in the house. Give me a call
or send mail for more information.

| I use a dust mop on the hard wood (oak) floors, gather all the fur into
a pile and then vaccuum the pile up. As for the rugs in the under the
dining room table and in the middle of the living room, I use my Eureka
3.5 hp wit the VibraGroomer II rug attachment. I've had it for about 10
years and it works real well, even with cat hair that weaves itself
into the upolstery. Of course these days what I do to cut down on
cleaning time is to cover all of the cat purches with towels, and once
a week shake them out and put them in the washing machine.
