RE: BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL SANCTUARY, KANAB, UTAH Last night I called the Better Business Bureau of Utah, 801-487-4656, about this organization to save pets. The organization had sent me some infor. in the mail and asking donations for the shelter of cats and dogs. The Business Bureau had asked them for financial statements and income tax copies, in which they have provided nothing to the state of Utah, to show where the money goes. Better Business Bureau is not recommending this organization as a good and responsible Animal Sanctuary. Just thought people should be aware. Nancy

The Better Business Bureau does not investigate the finances of non-profit organizations like Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. In order to be listed as an "approved" organization of any kind, there are requirements that must be met, one of which is to provide audited financial statements. The cost of providing this information is between $5,000 and $10,000. Best Friends does not believe that donated money that goes to feed and care for all of their animals should be used for this purpose. Best Friends can provide IRS Form 1990, which gives all financial information about their organization, to anyone who is interested. The Better Business Bureau has neither approved nor have they disapproved of Best Friends Animal Sancturay. |
