    One of our two boys, Minou, developed early signs of kidney failure
    about a year ago. We put him on the recommended diet, and he seemed to
    be doing fine.
    
    Last night, Minou started vomiting and showed signs of weakness.
    
    After a few minutes he lapsed into a state of semi-consciuosness.
    
    We called the local animal hospital (Jaffrey, NH) and got their
    answering service. They referred us to an emergency hospital in
    Manchester, NH, an hour and a half away.
    
    We took him to the hospital in Manchester, and he was more alert when 
    we arrived there.
    
    The doctor suggested taking some blood tests and putting him on an
    IV for the night. 
    
    The doctor took Minou into the examining room to do the blood tests.
    
    A few minutes later she came out and told us Minou had passed on.
    
    My wife and I were both shocked at how quickly he went.
    
    Minou was a gift to me from my wife about sixteen years ago. I will
    always cherish the good times we had with him. His favorite thing
    was to ride on my shoulder. Even at the age of seventeen and overweight
    he still cried for me to ride him on my shoulder. The last time he did
    that was the day before yesterday.
    
    We will miss our Minou very much.

	Ken, I'm so sorry to hear about Minou. Please keep him in your heart, and he will never really be gone. He lived a long happy life with you, and knows how much he was loved. I'm sure he was greeted with open paws by all our furfaces that passed on before him. Minou will be added to the Silver Lining Memorial. My sympathies are with you in this sad time. Love, Yonee

	Ken, Please accept my condolences in your loss of Minou! He sounds like he was a delight and I am sure, was loved very much. In losing someone you love that quickly is so shocking, perhaps you can take comfort in the fact that he didn't suffer. That still doesn't make your grief any easier and I hope I didn't offend you. 	I'm so sorry about Minou. It's very difficult to lose a little furry member of your family after so long. I had a cat (Daffy) for 21 years and I remember how it was when I had to have her put down. We all send our prayers and support to you. Marilyn, Alan, and Tigger

	Ken, My heart goes out to you, losing Minou, especially at this time of year. It's good he went quickly and didn't suffer for a long time though. You were lucky to have each other for 17 years, and he will always be with you in Spirit. Hugs, Laura
