672.0. "Looking for "A Meowly Christmas"" by MSBCS::ASHFORTH () Fri Dec 03 1993 07:58

    My sister-in-law is trying to locate a recording called "A Meowly
    Christmas," by "The Jingle Cats." It consists of Christmas Carols
    recorded using as instruments recorded cat meows. She heard it on WEVO,
    but didn't hear the information on where to find it. I figured *this*
    would definitely be the place to ask!

    Thanks in advance-

    I'm looking for it too - there was a segment on "CBS This Morning" about
    it a few weeks back. None of the local Strawberries or Lechmere know
    anything about it. The CBS segment didn't provide any label
    information either, though it did say 40000 copies had been ordered
    by distributors. It originated on the West Coast, so maybe some of our
    West Coast FELINErs have seen it.

I just heard a sample (Silent Night) on KVIL radio in Dallas this morning.
There was also an article in today local paper. According to the article,
the album is now available in this area (Suggested retail price: $7.99 for
cassette, $12.99 for CD).

If you cannot find it in the stores in your area, there is an 800 number.

To order a copy of JINGLE CATS MEOWY CHRISTMAS, call 1-800-XMAS-CAT
(1-800-962-7228).  Compact discs are $17.49 and cassette tapes are $12.49;
price includes shipping and handling. Or send check or money order to
Jingle Cats Music, P.O. Box 47, Hollywood, CA 90078.

If I get the time, I will try to enter the whole article that was in the
Dallas paper.

    It's backordered at Coconuts. Sandy called them again yesterday and
    they said they wouldn't be getting more until Friday (i.e., tomorrow),
    but I'm going to try them tonight just in case. If I do manage to find
    a copy I'll bring it.
