| First of all, remember that time solves most problems. I am sure, here
are a lot of feliners who can give you best advices. As for me, I have
only one cat, but as my mother introduced the second cat to her
household, it gave similar problems, which were solved with time and
love and patience fully.
A question: is your husband also a cat lover? Perhaps try to 'share'
cats, best way cross-sexed, that means yours should be the male cat,
and his the female... Then each of them has an 'own' human to rule,
that might help!

Catherdal and is YET impressed!

| Elisabetta,
Perhaps you could put the new kitty in a separate room for just a
little while and at the same time give special treatment to the older
cat.
If you did this for maybe 15 minutes or half an hour each day, the
older cat would know that you still love him and that he is still
special and won't have to fear that the newcomer will intrude on his
"special time".

618.3 | Yup, lots of love and attention..... | STUDIO::COLAIANNI | I have PMS and a handgun ;-) | Wed Sep 29 1993 07:35 | 21 |
| Elisabetta,
Nat probably hit the nail on the head, so to speak, when he said, it
just takes time. Three weeks is not a great amount of time really, when
it comes to an only cat adjusting to a new arrival. Make sure you give
your older kitty LOTS of attention, and maybe try to stroke both of
them at the same time if possible.
It took my little female Furby MONTHS to get used to the introduction
of Finnigan, while it only took Feendoonie a few weeks. Of course they
are still wary of him, as he's so large, that when he pounces on them
he knocks the wind right out of them! ;-)
Patience and love will eventually win him over, I'm sure. Please keep
us all informed as to your progress. As you probably already figured
out, we all LOVE to get kitty stories!
Love,
Yonee
