Hi, I'm new to this notes conference but I have been reading it for about three months now.I really like the way everybody talks about their(and other)cats! I was wondering if you could help me with my kitty problem?! Shadow (between 2-3 years old) has always eaten dry food , but always had her treats such as tender vittles, and was always quite happy, until, Babie-- she's our new kitty (6mths). We feed Babie her kitty food, which is canned food, and Shadow has taken a liking to it, and now she won't eat her dry food and meows (howls) for canned food -- whenever I walk into the kitchen no less! She get's along great with Babie, actually mothering her and teaching her everything she knows, but she's also getting fat and demands food every time I walk by her or pass by the kitchen! What can I do to get her out of this habit? Sylvie

I feed mine wet food, they like it best. I clear up when they've done, and put down dried food for the day. When they know the food will be removed before I go to work, they don't tend to pick at it so much. They do meow at me when we're eating chiken and any other meat, I tap them on the head between the ears with one finger, and say NO. They then sit patiently 'till we've done, hoping there will be a bit left over to put in their bowls! |
