| Rachel...we always do special things for my vet because he always
takes very good care of my animals and gives me GREAT discounts!!
Some ideas I have used to show my appreciations were to buy them a
few cases of cat food because I know they feed some feral cats that
live in the back of the clinic. Or you could send them a little extra
donation to help strays that are brought in...or even make them some
homemade cookies or buy some candy for the vets and office help!!
And I have sent them a special thank you note from all my kitties!!!

| Rachael, you are not alone with praise for your vet. Mine (Dr.
Barbara Heald) is one of the greatest! Not only does she take
excellent care of my cats, she also takes the time to thoroughly
explain things.
When Dr. Heald was called upon to put my cat down (12/91) she cried
human tears. She also sent a lovely sympathy card. The best part was
she knew how desperate I was to locate another cat (it was Christmas
and the shelters were empty) and she and her assistant found us Chubs
and Zelda. Chubs was so matted and filthy - Dr. Heald (and Dr. Tucker)
took him in, shaved him, cleaned him up and returned him as good as
new at *No Charge*!!!
I'm probably one of the few people on earth that likes to go to the
vets with my brats. Mostly the reason is because I find Dr. Heald so
fascinating and fun but most of all, she really loves my cats (well,
except Lea). :^)
Find out what your vet likes. Some have sweet tooths. I make brownies
and cookies and bring over a large batch now and then. In fact, it's
something that's on my list of things to do.... Between my vet and my
surgeon, I'm going to fatten up the population of southern New
Hampshire. :^)
If you are any good at crafts, maybe a little something handmade would
be well accepted?

| My cats have a vet like this, Dr. Brent Walker of Los Altos, Calif.
He and his staff are worth their weight in platinum.

480.6 | how about some cat toys for your vet? | SPEZKO::RAWDEN | Go ahead, make my dinner! | Thu Feb 04 1993 05:50 | 14 |
| When we went to the vets last week for the yearly checkup, I brought
along a "cat dancer" toy. Surprisingly enough, my vet had never seen
one of these. Perhaps you could buy a couple of toys for your vet? If
he is anything like the vet we use, there's a menagerie of animals
living at his house that will play with toys for hours on end!
My vet is great! I was joking with her and said "We still don't have a
redhead". She said "Hah! That's what I used to say!! Hang on a
second, I'll bring my new cat out for you to meet him". He's a cute
little orange kitty who suffered complications during birth. Something
to do with his the umbilical cord and stomach problems. The owners
brought him in to be euthanized because they "didn't want him". My vet
operated on him and spent weeks nursing him back to being quite
healthy. Well, she kept him and named the little guy Squish! :^)

| So, when are you bringing Squish home Cheryl? ;-) Your menagerie will
be "almost" complete once you get a redhead!
Let's see, I have to put something in about a vet.....Oh yeah, the vet
I used to use, take sin strays and they live at the office until
someone adopts them also. There! That was a close one. How'd I do Jan?
;-)
Love,
Yonee

| That is a nice thought about bringing in the teasers, but i have to say that
I know Brian personally and he has more teasers than he can manage! Actually
he breeds American Shorthairs with his wife Cindy. They are at a show almost
every weekend, so they get to see all the toys!
