478.0. "Do You Dream About Your Cats?" by JULIET::CANTONI_MI (Don't you cryyyieeyyy tonite...) Fri Jan 15 1993 09:30
Well, today is my last day with Digital, and I just know I'm going to
be in tears several times before it's over. All the people from the
two offices I supported over the past year pitched in and bought me a
cat tree! It has one platform and one of those square cubbyholes on
top. They also sent one of those round, carpeted cubbyhole things
(what are these things called?!). It was so sweet, I got misty-eyed.
Anyway, I just wanted to say farewell one last time. As my parting
gift to you all, I'd like to share a dream that I had recently, and
perhaps get a discussion going that's not about
"something's-wrong-with-my-cat". So, do you dream about your cats, and
have you had any funny ones lately?
I had this dream in the morning just before I woke up. I was holding
Nicky and flying (without benefit of an airplane) over the Florida Keys
coast. Nicky wanted to get down, so I flew down to the water which was
crystal clear and had dark brown coral patches on the sandy bottom.
There were lots of people and dolphins swimming around. I put Nic down
in the water thinking he wasn't going to like it, but he just started
swimming around. When he got close to shore (withing a yard), though, he
stopped swimming and went down to the sandy bottom. The water was just
over his head and he was just standing on the bottom sniffing around like
cats do. I was worried that he'd drown so I kept lifting him back up to
the surface. There were no waves or anything. Then we walked up onto the
beach and there was this casual beach party happening, and my dad was
there. While I was talking to him, we all went over to a picnic table
and sat down. Then Nic and I went back out to the ocean. And that's
when I woke up. It was sooo weird, but also very tranquil.

| Michele...we will miss you terribly and please stay in touch via
the offline newsletter and keep us posted on your babies!! And
if your ever on the East Coast please give me a call and I
will coordinate a get-together!!! That's a promise!!!
Well this isn't actually a dream...but it did happen last summer
while I was sleeping. One night I just happened to wake up and
noticed this kitty that was sitting on the roof of my car peering
into my bedroom window. As I was rubbing my eyes to try and vocus
I noticed this cat was a very big gray/white kitty. I kept rubbing
my eyes saying "god that looks like Tamba"! Tamba had passed away the
fall before!
I was a bit nervous...so I closed my eyes...and opened them again...
and kitty was still there. I must have done this about 10 times...
but the funny part was I was so nervous I couldn't get up to
take a better look. Well about 10 minutes later....kitty walked
off the car and disappeared which at that time I had enough
courage to go look out the window. There were no signs of kitty!!
I think back now..and could kick myself in the butt for not
having the courage to get out of bed...because I truly believe
it was Tamba coming back to say "hey...I'm still here watching
over the house".

478.2 | Flight of the Bumble Bea | PROXY::HUTCHESON | the revolution will not be televised | Fri Jan 15 1993 12:01 | 15 |
| It is so distressing to have so many good people leaving Feline.
This, on top of the devastation to my group.
In any event...
As you may know, the kitty of *my* dreams is named Bumble Bea.
I have had at least two dreams in which I had a pet bee - the
yellow and black striped variety that stings. I don't remember
specifics about the dreams, except that in one my pet bee stayed
in a tiny matchbox type thing.
This reminds me of an idea I had for a note. Stay tuned!

478.3 | Bandit and Nutmeg...the dream. | BSS::VANFLEET | Repeal #2 | Fri Jan 15 1993 12:01 | 14 |
| I remember a dream I had about two of my cats back in 1973, I had a
big bully of black and white alley-cat named Bandit and a sweet little
miniature tortoise-shell named Nutmeg. Bandit was constantly
terrorizing Nutmeg. If she tried to eat when he wanted to eat he'd wap
her with one of his big paws and she'd go sliding across the linoleum
on the kitchen floor, more often than not whacking into the wall before
she could stop. One night I dreamt that Bandit pulled one of these
moves on Nutmeg and she politely padded back to him with her tail in
the air and daintily gave him about 20 forehand/backhand slaps across
the chops.
I woke up laughing. :-)

| Goodbye, Michelle. Lucky me to live nearby so I'll still see
you at the west coast gatherings. (What a great goodbye
present, how did they know you liked cats :-)
