454.0. "Commun. with Animals" by ISLNDS::URBAN () Wed Dec 09 1992 09:17
I saw an interesting "Evening Talk" listed in my Interface catalog
called "Communicating with Animals" that I might be interested in going
to as well as maybe some of you other animal lovers. The speaker is
Penelope Smith and the following is the ad in the catalog:
Even as a child, Penelope Smith never fantasized about what it would be
like if her pets could talk to her; like Doctor Doolittle, she just
paid attention and they did--telepathically. Ms. Smith is an animal
telepath, the author of "Animal Talk: Interspecies Telepathic
Communication, now in its third printing, and she says anyone can do
what she does. She will talk tonight about how animals communicate,
what prevents people from receiving their messages, and what she has
learned about animals--from their problems and needs to their emotional
and spiritual nature. Join her, bring your wildest questions, and
learn how to enhance your relationships with other species.
Penelope Smith lives in Point Reyes, CA where she has a private
practice as an animal telepath. She is the author of "above," and is
now working on a second book.

Blurb on the Interface Wellness Center:
Interface is an education center founded in 1975 to explore those
trends in health, personal growth, science and religion which excite
and encourage us to seek new ways of living, expand personal horizons,
and join with others to help create a better world. We are
particularly interested in the work people are doing on the borderlines
between major disciplines--between physical and mental health, between
science and religion, and between psychology and spirituality. Our
focus, then, is on health for the whole person, body, mind, and spirit,
and our activities consist of lectures, courses, workshops and
conferences presented by an international faculty which we bring
together each season at our center in Cambridge, MA.
FYI: I have never attended an Interface class or have ever been there
myself, but they have a lot of interesting classes in their catalog.
It's in Cambridge by the Alewife T-stop. If you want to call to join
the class, or get a catalog yourself, call 617-876-4600.
Oh, and feel free to post this in other "Animal" notesfiles if you
like.

| Just thought I'd let you know that I saw a television program on her (I believe
that it was on cable, i.e. PBS) and it was VERY interesting. They had a horse
that wouldn't eat - at all. After a little communicating, she claims to have
learned what was wrong, had a little chit chat and the horse started to eat
again.
There was a cat with a biting problem, that she apparently helped to correct.
From what I saw on tv I would recommend the lecture, I believe it would be
entertaining at the very least.
Wish I was in the area so I could go.
