| Some East Coast types may already be familiar with the
comic strip "Sylvia", about a hard core feminist owned
by two cats. The author of the strip has a new book out.
It's about cats and the title is "Everything Is Mine".
Does Sebastion read? 8^)

451.3 | The Colonel's Revenge | DEMING::BITTICKS | | Wed Dec 16 1992 04:50 | 23 |
| The Hon. Colonel Sebastian Moran, DROFFC, is currently running a series
of exercise drills for his new recruit, Rumpole of the Bailey. The
drill seems to consist of The Colonel going over to Rummy, staring at
him Meaningfully and taking off. Rummy chases after him. The Colonel
goes behind or under something and Rummy tries to figure out where the
kitty went. At 11 weeks, it appears that Rummy's brain has yet to get
into gear. Rummy is still eating the Colonel's food and drinking his
water. I've tried several methods and nothing has worked. (Remember
that The Colonel is a wobbly cat and cannot jump or climb more than a
foot or so.) Yesterday I was making dinner and the Colonel came in and
helped himself to Rummy's water. Then he took his paw and did a small
dance in the water dish. He then went into the living room looking very
pleased with himself. He has sniffed the puppy's food, but then shook
his head several times and left, obviously wondering why anyone would
eat that stuff.
The Colonel's new passion (aside from confusing the pup) is watching me
file my nails. He is fascinated by the emory board, purrs very loudly
the whole time and then grabs the board and bites it. I haven't figured
out what the purpose of this is. Maybe he's going to file the little
fellow's teeth down?

Sari,
Not knowing a lot about your Colonel, is he part Maine Coon?
My Sasha *loves* my emery boards....she can hear me filing my
nails from two rooms away. And then takes the emery board
away from me. =)

| My DejaVu loves emery boards too. She sits on the chair and tries to
catch the board. When she does, she won't give it back. I feel she is
just *filing her teeth down*....

An old Sylvia strip has a scientist stating that they'd decoded the
language of cats.
"Unfortunately it boils down to variants on two phrases :
'I want to eat NOW!' and 'Everything Here Is Mine'."

451.7 | The Colonel makes a raid | BIGQ::BITTICKS | | Thu Aug 04 1994 05:58 | 12 |
| The Honorable Colonel Sebastian Moran,DROFFC, took leave of his senses
temporarily last night for reasons I have not been able to determine.
While he enjoys being petted, he is not a lap cat or very demonstrative
in his manner. I was sitting in my recliner having my dinner. Suddenly,
I had a cat in my salad. He came out of nowhere, launched himself into
my lap, looked surprised and took off. (The Colonel being a wobbly
kitty, this took quite a bit of effort.) I think he had planned a raid
on my left-over steak and miscalculated the course I was on. The three
dogs spent sometime staring at him. I do so hope neither of the
St.Bernards decide to try that.
