| | Eleanor, it sounds like the show "Cats: Caressing the Tiger", which is
a National Geographic show, usually shown on PBS stations. Wasn't one
cat called Jetty? Very good show btw!

| | Eleanor,

I didn't see the tv program you are talking about. However, I do have
a magazine article about (I believe) this man. It's entitled "Mission
Possible: Rescue on the Rocks". The man's name is Leo Grillo and he
started and organization called DELTA (Dedication and Everlasting Love
    to Animals).

It's a great article and if you would like a copy I'd be happy to send
it to you. Let me know your mail code.

    Regards,

Thanks for the info Karen and Janet. The t.v. show may have been
the one you mentioned. There were comparisons between the domestic
cat and the wild cats. I'd also love to have a copy of the article.
It certainly sounds like the man from Oxnard. I'll VAXMAIL you my
new mailstop. I'm moving next week from BXC to ACO.

    Thanks again,

    Eleanor

| 348.5 | The two cats names are Jetty and Marina. | JULIET::CANTONI_MI | That really ghasts my flabber! | Thu Aug 06 1992 14:01 | 7 |
| | The show was definitely "Cats: Carressing the Tiger" - I just saw it
last week. I don't remember the man's name (am now wishing I taped the
show!), but I think he does rescues in more areas than just that jetty.
They did mention that he runs a cat shelter, but that the only cats
there are ones that he himself has rescued.

I didn't see tv this week but I have seen a film
about the man who does the cat rescues. You should
see his house! (or did you??) He has wall to wall,
head to toe *8^} cats. I'd like to know how HE deals
    	with hissing problems.

    	Not a TV program but...

There was a story in this week's STAR magazine about a woman
who won $7million in the lottery. She built a $1million dollar
home and had a 6 room house built just for her 20 kitties!

Now *that's* a dream come true for lots of folks in here I'm
    	sure! =)

| | The article "Mission Possible" by Paul Grillo was in the August 1990
issue of Cats magazine, for anyone who keeps old issues of magazines.
    It's a great article.
    Re: .7
Hmmm, think I'll start buying lottery tickets!

Keep a watch on the T.V. schedules...especially for public stations,
A&E, Discovery and such... This show has been re-run at least 4 times
that I know of...I've seen it completely on 2 occasions and ran across
it while exercising the remote a couple of other times..

I'd be very surprised it it isn't replayed many times still....

| | Yes, it shows up every year or so. I think the National Geographic
shows are available on video (maybe). Your local PBS station might
know an 800 number for the videos.

I wonder if the Blockbuster Video shops would have this video. I know
that they carry a LOT of National Geographic videos, so it is possible.
I saw the video about a year ago, a friend of mine had taped it, and it
was GREAT. The only part I couldn't watch was the part where the males
kill the kittens....flipped me right out. (sigh) But I wanted to be
that man in California with the ranch and all the cats roaming about
    his property.......
