| Well, it's obvious to me that you just have to wait your turn! ;-) When
I got tot the cookout, Mike was on the couch reading the paper, and
Bumpy was on his chest, just as happy as can be! Bumps loves him a
lot!
I suppose it's better than him not liking cats at all! ;-) I know what
you're going through though. I usually take a back seat to my kitties,
if they are in the mood for petting! 8-( Get used to it! They'll weasle
in no matter what you try! ;-)
Love,
Y

| Well you can always rent a cat costume and just snuggle in there with
the rest of them. :^)
How nice a fur blanket in the middle of summer. :^)

| I have somewhat a related story to the basenote. I've been without cats for
about five years because I lived in an apartment that didn't allow them. I'm
recently married and moved to a new home that....ALLOWS CATS!. YIPPY!
Unfortunately, my new husband didn't share in the joy. He was never raised
around animals, and just didn't know how enjoyable they can be. After
seeing neighborhood cats run up to me, I think he realized that this was a
losing battle. So with the conditions of "no cats in the bedroom" we got a
little one.
It took only two days before this little squirt, was in his heart. She was
crying outside our bedroom door one night and guess who opened it... you got
it! Guess who she slept on all night.
So now everyday when he comes home from work, they have to go through this
big ritual of her running to greet him, he picks her up, gives her a petting,
talks to her for a while and continues on with this for a while, until she
goes back to play time. (He even talks baby talk, tee-hee :) ).
She's decided that my husband is her favorite and he eats it up! Maybe
I'll have to get another one for me ; )

Nancy, I know what you mean! Just when I finish telling
my visitor that Sara is neurotic and don't look at her
or she'll run away, she will be giving head-bump kisses
and rolling around like a little slut!` Hey, you don't do
that for me you little brat!' :)

| Yup, the same thing happens to me. When Bob, my fiance, comes to my
house to pick me up, I've got to make sure that I get at least a kiss
and hug before Honey comes into the room. She hears his voice and
comes running from no matter where she is! One time, he squatted down
to pet her and she climbed up on his knee! (This is a 17 year old
cat!).
If he's going to stay a while, forget it! I can't get near him! He
goes in and sits down on the couch, and Honey and Marni immediately
climb on his lap! It is SO funny to see!
And this is the guy who, when we went on our first date, told me he
hated cats! Needless to say, he's changed his tune! (-:

334.8 | wonder if Joan&David will design cat shoes next? | SPEZKO::RAWDEN | Cheryl Graeme Rawden | Wed Jul 22 1992 07:26 | 7 |
| Hey Nancy, I'm still trying to figure out why shoes are so fascinating
to cats!!!! Is it the smell that attracts them? But really, my feet
don't smell! :^)
I'm supposed to be the shoe fanatic in our house but Chubs is in
competition. He's always trying to get inside my shoes. :^) Too bad
he's male, we could have called him Imelda.....

| Cheryl,
Kyra has a show fettish, too! She especially likes my sneakers after
I've been wearing them all day long! Uck! She sticks her ENTIRE head
inside my shoe!
She actually got caught in my shoe once. it was the FUNNIEST thing to
see poor little Kyra running around the house with my shoe on her
head!! haha! Poor Baby!!
Holly
p.s. If anyone's wondering about my personal name, Kyra did it again!
Only this time I got "smacked" with a paw for pushing her away from MY
tunafish!

| I have the opposite problem (should this note be moved?). I'm not sure
if my 2-year old is picking up vibes from me or not, but she just
doesn't warm up to the man I am dating now. We have been dating 3
months and is over my house quite frequently. I tried having him feed
her or play with her favorite toy, but she is very cool and aloof. It
usually takes 2-3 days of just her and me alone before she even comes
over to me again.
However, when my ex (of 4 years) visits, she is very warm to him (she
didn't even meet him until she was a year old and we just started
seeing each other as friends). I don't know if this is because I am not
overly affectionate with the ex (so he poses no threat to her
security). But I certainly wouldn't mind if she greeted the new man in
my life the way .0 described....

| I can relate to the "lack of attention" from someone elses cat. When I
first started dating my husband, he traveled a lot. I volunteered to
feed his Siamese while he was gone. Well, the cat wouldn't eat. She
wouldn't show any attention to me. She'd rather have starved than see
my face at the door! You'd think after all these years she'd warm up
to me but noooo! What does she do? She plays the role of Miss Social
when people like Yvonne and Jill come over. I swear she does this to
embarrass me and she does a fine job. People say "I thought you said
this cat was a wench"? Anyway....
On the otherhand, I once had a Persian that loved me only. He was not
overly thrilled with Bill but after a while he slowly but surely warmed
up to him. Then I hurt my back and was in bed for 22 days. Bill came
over and cooked for me most of those days (we were still single) and he
fed the cat all the time. That was when the sudden turnaround happened
and my cat at that point began worshipping Bill. Perhaps you could ask
your new honey to feed your cat on a more consistent basis? Hey, if
you like the guy, this would be a good excuse to have him come around
more often. :^)
Holly, I'm still baffled at how come you went on another date with your
fiance if he hated cats. I may not have been able to make it to the
second date!!!

Hey Holly, I think Audrey and Kyra are related. Audrey
loves to stick her head completely inside a shoe or
slipper. Then (with it still on her head) she does
flips!
I'm tellin' ya I need a camcorder so I can send it to
Funniest Home Videos.....I could use $10K! =)

I wish my kitty Sigourney would act a little more snobbish!!!!!
Anyone who walks into my house gets mauled(sp) with affection from
him....he is like a dog...have to be in your face licking your nose
to be happy!!!!!
My husband says it is because he is spoiled....but when I sneak
I catch him being licked by him too!!!!!!!!!!
