Beloved Friend to Eedra
March 1988 to May 13, 1992
Beautiful in body and soul,
Forever in my heart.

......a little late, but I am new (today) to this conference, and
Eddies replacement has arrived and is now sitting on my lap.
Eddie was named from the Laura Nyro song...my name is Eddie,
and I am a cat and I sleep with one eye open..etc. Also after
Eddie Harris the jazz player.
He was a ginger and white DSH with perfect low tops on the front
paws and high tops on the back. He would ALWAYS be sure he
sat with his front paws lined up perfectly.
A picture of dignity, Eddie knew what he wanted, and was
perfectly OK with getting and doing what he wanted, while
doing no harm to anyone else. I learned alot from him.
Born in Hawaii and migrated to Australia as soul companion to mom,
he was my #1 man. (unfortunately?)
He has won over many a dog person with his fierce independence
and outrageous character. He was looked after for a year while
I was sailing/traveling by an X dog man who thought if he could
learn to relate to a feline, he might have some hope relating
to a woman. He promply changed Eddie to Ed, and taught him
to sit, but after that he too started to learn from Eddie.
Eddie than flew to Australia and his temporary care taker got
married a year later.
I only had him a little over a year after his 4 month quarentine.
He was a joy to be around. A very happy soul.
He was my first pet to loose so tragically, and my only family
down under. (It's nice to be able to write this now.) I buried
him in the yard next to the garden under a tree. At sunset.
12 (!) people attented with 5 being neighbors. He was a very
popular cat.
I felt his presence in my home the other night. The next day
I rang my local vet, and they *just happened to have* a 4
month old ginger/white stray. My new cat is beautiful, and
much more affectinate than Eddie, and it's fantastic to
have a friend at home again.

Eedra, I'm sorry to hear of Eddie's passing. He sounds like he was one hell of a good cat. It's also good to hear that you are able to find a new place in your heart for your new kitten. It'll make the healing so much easier. Our sympathies....and let's hear those kitten stories! Mary+7 | |||||
