| According to the reports I heard, all of the animals perished.
However, usually in fires like this the animals suffer very little.
Smoke and toxic fumes usually render them unconscious very quickly.
However this surely is a terrible tragedy on the scale of the
greyhound kennel in Rever MA and the barn at Plimoth Plantation
that burned recently..

| I heard the same on the radio this morning. Hopefully none suffered
at all. This is terrible. If they find out that this rash of fires is
connected in some way and they catch those responsible - I can think of
some nice forms of punishment for those involved.
I hope that they are caught soon!

| How terrible. I've also heard, however, that what happens in such a
case is that the beings become first unconscious and then die
from inhaling smoke and fumes, so hopefully these babies didn't suffer.
