February is okay for me as long as we keep it on a week night. The
weekends are shot for a while.

How about some weeknight in the last two weeks of February? Giudi?
    Dian? Anybody else out there.....

I'd love to - I'll coordinate with Marlene as I don't have wheeles.
Maybe I can finally make one of these dinners and I'm looking forward

I NEVER turn down an opportunity to attend such a gathering....any time is
fine with me...just let me know. I don't know about food preferences...
anyone for Italian - mebbe a pizza joint? I wish I knew about good,
cheap chinese, but I really don't....my favorite chinese restaurants aren't
in the cheap category...the closest I can come is the golden dragon on
El Camino in Sunnyvale. Or, we can do Mexican!!!! Now, that is a cuisine
I can get involved in. There is an absolutely FABULOUS Mex restaurant
on Capitol Expressway, near 101. It is really authentic and, during
the week, the wandering troubadors aren't singing (a relief, as their
singing is very LOUD, very nice, but loud).

Pick a date, a cuisine, and let's do it!

I could live on Mexican food (and often have!). I vote yes for
Mexican. If there is a good Mexican place on Capitol Expressway that I
haven't tried, then I am game! The weeknights I have committments
already are the Feb. 10th, 13th (Santa Clara County Animal Advisory
    Committe meeting), 18th, 20th, 21st, and 28th.

It looks like these are possible dates; speak up anybody if you
can't make it on one of them: all in Feb - 17 (Mon), 19 (Wed), 24 (Mon),
25 (Tue), 26(Wed), 27(Thu). Am I right in thinking the furthest
North people are coming from is SF and the furthest South is San Jose?
Should we aim for an intermediate place (question not motivated by
the fact that I live in Palo Alto :-) ?

164.7Forgot about the 17thMUTTON::BROWNWed Jan 29 1992 10:575
The furthest south is Morgan Hill! :') Feb 17th is my birthday, so
that is reserved for a family gathering. Sorry, I seem to be making
    things difficult again. :'(

    okay Giudi and other Northerners?

164.9SANFAN::FOSSATJUWed Jan 29 1992 11:505
I love Mexican. Marlene should be in in a little bit and I'll ask her
to check out the dates. The only weekend Nite in Feb that I'm hung up
is the 22nd, I think (invitation is at home) otherwise I'm free.

164.10good company, good food, anywhere...FORTSC::WILDEwhy am I not yet a dragon?Wed Jan 29 1992 12:4025
I have a very unbusy calendar except for the county animal meeting...about
the restaurant:

	name: Mexico Lindo
where: on Capitol Expressway, just off 101 in a shopping center
		with a pier 1 store.

I know there are other Mexico Lindo's, but this one has superior food...and
it is in a part of town where you aren't afraid to park your car...the others
aren't so good in that department, I'm told. Downtown S.J., for instance...

I can always tell a good mex restaurant by the beans - yep, humble food, and
a world of difference between the canned and the cooked from scratch...and
the flour tortillas are to die for. The salsa is fine and has just the
right amount of 'heat'...well, as you can see, I feel safe in recommending
this one.

If anyone knows another Mex restaurant that is good, easy to find, and
not too expensive (I, frankly, croak a little at the prices at Pedro's
lately).....if Capitol and 101 is too far, how about El Toritos off Great
America and 101? I haven't been there lately, so I cannot recommend...anyone
else who can?

I am very flexible...I'll eat anything that I know what it is and it isn't
ugly (squid, octopus, etc. are ugly in my book).  8^}

I'm so glad the subject of a party came up. Any of the dates mentioned
would be fine (so far). I mentioned the party to another DEC 'Feline
Mom', Irene Hensley and she's interested in going too. Any ethnic food
is fine with me. I'll be bringing my hubby too, (if he worked for DEC
    he'd be an active Feliner.)

O.K., here I am. I can make it any evening the week of February 27th.
The previous week I am on vacation. How about Thursday the 27th?
Mexican is fine with me. I prefer quality of food over a more
convenient location. We get FANASTIC Mexican food up here in S.F
so it has got to be worth the trip (not that the company doesn't have
anything to do with it :^} )!!!!!

    exists in New England.

Hey Mary, lets bag tomorrow's party and go to the one in California

164.15Thursdays are goodYOSMTE::CORDES_JASet Apt./Cat_Max=3..uh,I mean 4Wed Jan 29 1992 15:3026
Actually Marlene, that's a good choice of days for me. Thursday is
my best day and the 27th sounds fine. Wednesdays are totaly out for
me and Mondays are do-able but I'd have to really juggle. I was going
to suggest a Tuesday or Thursday if no one else did.

Karen, any chance the 27th works for you and the rest of the folks?

Best thing about doing it on a Thursday (assuming that date is good
for everyone else) is that it's a whole week till my next Weight
Watchers meeting and I can probably get away with a little (oh, okay,
    a big) splurge.

I'll travel almost anywhere for Mexican food but, I hate driving in
SF. Not that the company wouldn't be absolutely worth it...however,
I make a better navigator so, if we do go to SF, I volunteer to ride
with someone and backseat drive...I mean...navigate.

After Dian's description of the food at the place on Capital and 101,
I'm already salivating in anticipation. I was going to suggest
El Charro's in Campbell (on Winchester between Campbell Ave. and Budd
Ave.--not far from where Camden Ave. and Highway 17 cross) but I'm
afraid I can't give it as good a build up as Dian did for her place
I've always found the food there to be very good though. We could keep
it in mind as an alternate.

If my calculations are correct, we have the following possibilities
    left:

24 Monday doable but difficult for Jan
        25 Tuesday
        27 Thursday

Let's wait until Giudi et al find out their schedules before
narrowing this down to thursday, maybe they can only come tuesday,
etc.... I am a bit worried about the distance they have to drive
from SF; Giudi, how long would it take you folks to get down there?

164.17WR1FOR::RUSSELLPE_STThu Jan 30 1992 08:525
Thursday Feb 27 is good for me. I work in Santa Clara and live in Los

hopefully not all the way up to SF.)

couldn't be much before 7 PM could it? If the S.F. folks can come down
280 and then cut over to 101 S, they can shave some time off their commute
I think...but it is hard to say where/when the worst jams are when comming
down this way....I just don't do it often enough.

164.23MUTTON::BROWNThu Jan 30 1992 14:229
If Guidi and Marlene are commuting together, I would say stick with
    101. We find it much faster when we go to and from the shows in SF,
and the commute lane will help most of the way.

I just found out today I will be attending a seminar those days
(25th-27th) but luckily I should be out of there by 4:30 pm and it is
    local.

    Jo
164.24CAPITN::CORDES_JASet Apt./Cat_Max=3..uh,I mean 4Thu Jan 30 1992 15:0711
FYI - 280 South during commuter traffic is sometimes worse than
    101. I've been on that road as late as 7:30pm and run into bumper
to bumper traffic. Surprises the heck out of me that I can't just
bee-bop along at that hour. It usually starts bogging down around
Cupertino and doesn't let up much until you get down to 101. The
areas between Saratoga Ave. and the Highway 17 overpass are the worst.

I can't wait till we get this set up. Geez, a whole month. I'll be
craving Mexican until then. Bring on those maggies (aka ritas).

164.31to get thereFORTSC::WILDEwhy am I not yet a dragon?Mon Feb 03 1992 16:3227
long awaited directions are:

if coming from "north" (in Cal, all directions are relative, you know):

take 101 S. and exit on Capitol Expressway East (go back over the
freeway when you come off 101). The first stop light is at
Silver Creek and Capitol EXpressway. On the right is the
Silver Creek Market shopping center in which you will see, right
at the corner, a Pier 1 Imports. Directly across from Pier 1
is the Mexico Lindo restaurant. If you see the Mexico Lindo
sign in time, you can turn into the shopping center just before
the intersection and you are right there. Worse case, turn right
on Silver Creek and go just past the Pier 1 bldg, and turn right
	into the shopping center.

if coming from the "south", just take 101 N. and follow the same directions.

You cannot get lost finding this restaurant!!! Even my roommate can find
it and she admits to having NO sense of direction.

If the date is a firm, I will try and get a reservation for us.

Bring appetites and a taste for authentic Mexican food...and beverages...8^}

Have fun at Mexico's. I tried it with my husband and a collegue who is

The drive back was almost as bizzare as getting there.

well, the one we are going to isn't the one in the bad part of town...I have
a problem with the environment after dark at the original Mexico Lindo and

well, in my opinion, the food was just as good as I remembered...the menu
has been updated and now has a lovely selection of grilled fishes (yup,
fish) and some new dishes based on Chicken and steak. The margaritas were
huge- and the strawberry ones were dark red with crushed berries. I had
two strawberry coladas - both were excellent. The Browns (JoAnn and Ken)
had pictures of their adorable Birman babies - professionally taken and
absolutely irresistable. Steffi and Bob had wonderful pictures of their
family of Birmans, a delightful Scottish fold, and a clever domestic short
hair, all obviously absolutely perfect cats. I saw a picture of Ms. Balzerma's
new girl...what a beauty she is! Copper eyes and that blue-cream coat make
her a knock-out. And Jan Cordes brought pictures of her family - I was
especially taken with Onyx, a short-haired, midnight black fellow who looks
full of mischief...and seems to live up to his looks. I had a few pics of
Dilly, my Birman, looking her normal irresistable self, The Flash looking
sweet and innocent (this is an act, folks, we all know that), and a few
really good shots of Missy Hana and The Flash, looking like sisters...if
you ignore Missy Hana's "middle-aged spread". Sam declined to pose for
this round of pictures, being otherwise engaged in meditation and rumination...
Judy F. from San Francisco came and met us all, but she didn't bring pictures
of her cats....we deduct points if you don't bring them next time, Judy...

Loved seeing everyone...Karen, we MISSED you...so, lets try and do it again
in a few months...someone pick a restaurant and a date.

well, I was inspired to get out my new mini-cannon and take some shots...and
they were all in the nice defused light from the cloudy day on Saturday and
Sunday so I think I captured the real eye color of the girls. I used really

Well, I'm sort of mid way. I'm in Willow Glen and only a very short
distance off of 280 (between the Hwy 17 exit and the Guadalupe exit)
but I have a very small apartment. So, if you don't mind sharing
640 square feet of space with 4 cats and lots of furniture, and
if you don't mind not sitting directly at a table to eat (its semi-
japanese style, pull up a bit of floor around the coffee table or
where ever you can find it), then my place is available.

I have two tables we can use as sort of a buffet thing. One for
main courses, etc. and then a great big one for desserts (yeah!)
I have lots of couch space for those who are good at balancing
plates on their laps. And, I promise to lock the cats in the
bedroom so you won't have to fight them off while you eat. Biggest
drawback to using my place is the lack of parking on the premises.
Street parking is the only option and it can get limited at certain
    times of the evening.

I am quite seriously willing to offer my digs....my cats aren't party animals
but they will be around...and I have spacious digs where we can spread out
and eat. However, it is not half-way. Any weeknight seems to be the best
idea as the more energetic of our group are busy showing felines on the
weekends.

Any weeknight after approx. 6:30 is fine with me...I can make any dessert
you want (yes, even souffles - I will whip them up and bake them while we
eat the main meal if you want a souffle - but, if Grand Marnier is you flavor,
you have the buy the booze...my budget won't cover that stuff 8^})

So.....choose the digs - my place, Steffie and Bob's place in Los Gatos
(I can bring dessert - but souffles are out - I hate to mess up anyone
else's kitchen), or.... and pick a date.

I think we should plan on a date at the end of the month to give all time
to plan...how's about another Thursday?

That's true. But there were several reasons for the arangement...She

When one is only 10 years old, anything can happen! :') Somewhere
between my house and the babysitter's house there is a bag with a $300
set of cage curtains, about $20 worth of cat toys, and combs, and a
nice brand new cage sign that says "Mysinhs Lyscentia".

The cage curtains cost $300 because they are elaborate (lots of lace
and trim) and I am not a good enough seamstress to sew them myself, so
I have to hire folks to make them for me.

Now, the next question might be "why would you give a $300 set of cage
curtains to a ten year old???" All I can say is that I have been
asking myself that question for the last three weeks (that is how long

So, when I look at the first Friday in May, I come up with May 1st.
Is that what everyone else gets or are you guys looking at May 8th.
If it'ss the 8th, I'm in trouble 'cause my clogging convention is
that weekend in Madera (I think that's the name of the town, it's
    near Fresno).

    Say it's the 1st, please, say it's the 1st.

Dian, the BBQ idea sounds great. I haven't a clue what I'll be
bringing but since we have such a long time until then I try to
think something up. Lets see, maybe german chocolate carmel brownies
or spinach, mandarin orange and almond salad or cherry coke salad
(this is a black cherry jello dish for anyone wondering).

Okay, now I'm hungry. Time to go home and make some dinner.

164.104May day party FORTSC::WILDEwhy am I not yet a dragon?Wed Mar 11 1992 09:5116
May 1st it is. I will tell Hana she is to prepare for her guests...she is
very fussy and likes lots of warning, you know....but she loves the hustle
and bustle of getting a party together..so much to do...

I will provide charcoal and grill, iced tea, ice cubes, a spring fruit
triffle, and a pasta salad (olive oil and balsamic vinegarette),
and a stir fry of whatever veggies look good at the market that week.
And my cats will be there to entertain you...well, actually, they will expect
you to entertain them with rousing games of "the flying neon pink mouse"...but
The Flash will drag the flying mouse toy into the room for you. Sadie the dog
comes as part of this bargain, but we are working on her guest manners so
she will be a very good girl by then.

This is gonna be fun.....I am delighted.

I will post directions to the wilde house when it is closer to the date.

I think of it as having meat in it. There isn't any meat in this.
But, if "Walking Taco" works for most, from now on it shall be
called a Walking Taco. Well, that's one item with a name, now I
just have to work on the rest.

I think she will have to have us paged. I am not sure where I will be

that we can keep an eye on each other's cats during the show. Ken will
be wearing a tux, and I will probably wear that black dress with the
lace back. Ken will be involved in the opening ceremonies. They will
probably put me on the end of an aisle near the rings so I won't have
    to walk so much.

Oh, just thought of something, my kitten will probably be kitten #1, so
if she hears them calling "kittens 1-12 to ring XXXX" then she could

DIRECTIONS TO THE HOUSE ARE:

If coming from north of 101 and Capitol EXpressway intersect:

You can:

take 101 S. and take Capitol Expressway exit going East - back over
the freeway. Stay on the expressway until you get to Tully Road.
Take a right turn at Tully road. Stay on tully through the light
at White road until you reach a stop sign on Flint. Turn Right.
Stay on Flint until you are 1 short block from the T intersection
at Norwood and Flint. Turn left on Arqueado Drive. Go to the
end of the first block. My home is on the left corner, a blue
house with white trim.

or you can:

take 101 S. and take the 680 exit (towards Sacramento, not towards
downtown San Jose). Take the capitol Expressway exit (the second
exit after you get on 680 - just past the Jackson exit). Stay on
Capitol until you get to Tully Road. Turn left on Tully Road.
Turn right on Flint. Turn left on Arqueado Drive. Voilla!

If coming from the South:

Take 101 N. to Capitol Expressway exit. Turn right onto Capitol
Expressway. Go to Tully Road and turn right. etc.

		Dian Wilde and Marge Brown
		3307 Arqueado Drive
		San jose, Ca. 95148

		(408)270-2699

Park on the side of the house on Brackett and in front of the
house. You can also use the driveway - but if we need to make a
run for munchies or something, then you have to drive.

Missy Hana will be taking names at the door and inspecting you for
bathroom privileges so be prepared to be eyed quite suspiciously
until she is sure you won't abuse her inner sanctum.

We will be receiving guests anytime after 18:00 (6:00) and we are
looking forward to it! We have a guest room for anyone who may wish
to stay over...queen size bed. We also have a sofa-bed...equpped
with cats, of course.

Marge will be busy packing to take a vacation with my mother in New
Mexico before bringing mom back with her so she won't be very active
in the party....don't take is personally.

well, for those who aren't coming, I gotta tell ya, I have created a recipe
for a marvelous dessert --- you are gonna miss it! I decided to do a
variation of the English Trifle dessert, except that I'm using angel food
cake instead of sponge (too many egg yolks for me), and strawberry/raspberry
juice instead of sherry(from fresh, sweetened fruits, of course), a vanilla
custard( from scratch, of course) and real whipped cream...oh, did I mention
the kiwi fruit? no? well, I am also adding kiwi fruit if it ripens to
perfection in time. No peaches are ripe yet so they will be in the next
dessert...when we meet again.

I have charcoal, solid starter, the pasta salad makings, a sourdough loaf for
garlic bread (and, for dieters) garlic-flavored brown-and-serve bread sticks...
and mushrooms, zuchini, onion, broccoli and cauliflour for the stir fry
veggies (with mild, but spicy, peanut sauce)...oh, and a couple extra
chicken breast sections in case you don't have time to grab one.

Am I missing anything? WE hope not....Missy Hana has been going over her
lists with Dilly and The Flash so we are pretty well set, I think.

well, let me just tell you. Hana was so happy and talkative after you all
left...she is turning into a real social butterfly. She was delighted to
have your company. Not like she was when I first go her. Dilly is
especially thankful for the visit, as mom went out the next day and got her
some of the sardine and shrimp in jelly cat food which Jo recommended -
and which is all Dilly ever dreamed of....on the other hand, mom thinks that
stuff is the grossest looking glop she has ever seen. No accounting for
taste. I also got great advice on tooth cleaning - cannot remember the name
of that stuff, but the vet will know when I describe it, right Jo?

I am so glad that we could meet - and we must do it again this summer after
Mother and the mini-Snauzer from H*** leave. I will need some good company
after a month or two of Gidget the wonder dog.

Sadie, the resident furry not-cat, was in love with everyone....not surprising,
considering her best friend in the world is Dilly the cat. Except when she
nips the tail - then Dilly is almost her best friend.

taking place while I was trying to eat my dinner). Hana is a sweety,
Dilly is gorgeous and I came ever so close to almost being allowed to
pet The Flash. And, Sadie...what a sweet pup.

I was lucky enough to still be there after everyone left so that Dian
could share her discover of a wonderful vacuum. I bought the thing
and was able to vacuum the other day without wearing my mask (for my
allergies). It works great and while it probably isn't quite as good
as one of the high-priced HEPA vacuums, it was right in my price range
and it does a darned good job. In fact it has so much suction that if
there was an apartment underneath me, I'd probably be sucking stuff up
    through the floor. ;-)

be happy to make a thursday open. I am flexible.

Is Jo able to sit around for a dinner yet? If so, we should go where

At any rate, let's shoot for late in the month...give plenty of

One problem with Halloween is that I like to be home. The doorbell
sounds like the last trump, and I have to peel cats off the ceiling
everytime it rings. Some trick or treaters don't realize that a dark

down the road apiece past Mexico Lindo - it would be an ugly drive for
you Karen.

Re: Mexico Lindo - hey, I LUV this place...but, we could find other
nice places too - they may have the Baker's Square across the street
from M.L. done by then (in consideration of Jo's hip and sitting in
a car for a long time, I suggest we stay nearer her place than the
Northerners amonst us)....and they have a Red Lobster near Mexico
Lindo - maybe they take reservations so we could be assured of a

164.164JULIET::CORDES_JAFour Tigers on My CouchWed Sep 23 1992 17:3616
Morgan Hill is about 1/2 hour past the 280/101 intersect. Capital
Expressway is the last overpass that has restaurants and things
I'm familiar with. It would probably be a good place to start
looking for a place to meet. It's not too far from Morgan Hill
but it's going to end up being somewhat of a drive for those of
you in up in Palo Alto and beyond. Dian has already listed a
number of places in that general area.

Whatever place we pick must be able to accomodate the vegetarians
in our group. I've never eaten at Red Lobster before. Are they
pretty good? I'm not much of a fish eater but I do like crab, lobster
and clams and could be persuaded to give it a try if the majority
decides. Bakers Square and Mexico Lindo are also good ideas. Hey,
I'm always ready for Mexican food.

    Hi,
10/23 or 10/30 are both okay with me. Do we have a time? If people
are coming from Palo Alto and further north, then I think 7-7:30 would
be good (and it would give me time to get there too). I'll be driving
up that stretch of road this Friday, so I'll look around and see what's
there (at least what's visible from the freeway).

I am trying to be a vegetarian (still haven't given up seafood), and I
think it would be a good idea to find a place with a good variety
(wonder if there's a Good Earth or Hobees in Morgan Hill?). But I have
found that most places will accomodate requests for menu items to be
    made without the meat.

    Anyway, that's what I think.

I don't have my book in front of me, but I think I will be around that
weekend. I started therapy recently and have been up in Fremont three
times a week, so anywhere in the San Jose area would be fine. I
shouldn't have to worry about transportation since if it is a Friday I
    will already be up there.

    Hi!

Even thogh I'm out here on the East Coast, and I wish I could be out
there for the gathering, which is unfortunately out of the question at
this time, I wanted to comment on one question asked.

I have a close friend who is a strict vegetarian, and she told me
there is "nothing" for her to eat at Red Lobster. Maybe a garden salad,
but no 'food'. Just thought I'd mention that, since the question was
    brought up by someone.

Karen, No, I don't work with Giudi; I work in Fresno, and it's just
me ,the Field Service guys, and one salesman.

Yonee, You're right. At a place like Red Lobster, the only thing for
a strict vegetarian would be a salad (not really much of a
"meal" unless you're in the mood for it).

I think Mexico Lindo sounds good; at least, I will have a chance of
gettign there at a reasonable time. If we decide to meet in San Jose,
I won't be able to get there until at least 8:00pm (although, maybe I

long awaited directions are:

if coming from "north" (in Cal, all directions are relative, you know):

take 101 S. and exit on Capitol Expressway East (go back over the
freeway when you come off 101).

Really, though, Friday night was fun, and it was wonderful to meet

    though.

Like I said...I paid for staying out late. The kids had torn up the
house BUT GOOD! Plants were knocked over, books and magazines were
all over the floor, and the carpets from the kitchen had been dragged
out into the living room. Of course, the three that are left with
the run of the house were taking a little nap on my bed when I got
home...it culdn't have been them, now could it? They MUST have been

    Scot,

When you go on vacation, just make sure to have whoever is feeding them
spend some time petting them and playing with them. You might also
want to leave the bed unmade and maybe leave out some dirty clothes that
smell like you; since you're their "daddy" it's comforting to have your
    scent around.

I think my kids were lonely this weekend, since Lasher chewed holes in
his socks (his favorite toy is a pair of socks) - this is something
he's never done before. This was the longest I've ever left them alone
(Friday afternoon through Sunday night), and my sister didn't have time
to visit with them when she fed them Saturday afternoon. [Don't worry,
I didn't starve them - they had lots of crunchies. I just wanted them
to have some canned food Saturday.]

Friday Dec. 11 at 7:00 PM at my house in Los Gatos.

    Things to bring:

    1. food - please let me know what you will bring.

2 . a gift to exchange - value $5-$10. Something to do with cats of
    course. ;-)

    3. Your favorite flavor of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. (Great idea, Holly)
Although my hubby whined "I want something besides ice cream, I'm
not as crazy about it as you are." He likes pastries.

    felines.

Sounds great, Steffi! Thanks for the use of your home. Would you be
so kind as to post directions? Is there a way for me to cut over from
101 rather than going all the way up to 280 then back down 17?

I'll bring a dessert since I'll be arriving later. How 'bout black
forest cake? Or pumpkin gingerbread to go with the ice cream?

Also, may I suggest that the gifts be fairly "generic" (but still cat
related), so we can do a grab bag style exchange. Or we can draw
numbers, then choose in numerical order with each person having the
choice of taking one of the previously chosen gifts or choosing an
unopened gift. (<--this is a fun way to do a gift exchange.)

Michele, pumpkin gingerbread sounds wonderful. I'm afraid that taking
101 N to 280 N to 17 S is the only way to cut across the valley.

Take 17 (880) S to Lark Ave (Los Gatos)
Go right on Lark to Winchester Blvd. (Lark ends there). Left on
Winchester. Past Villa Felice on the left. The next townhouse complex
is mine. 15400 Take either driveway, it makes an upside down U. We
are in #30 at the back part of the U. There is a little parking in the
driveway by my garage and more parking along the drive before my house.
I'll have the porch lights on and 1 is green, should be easy to spot.

Thanks, Steffi. I was thinking of cutting across on Blossom Hill or

way to go since you live to the west of 17.

    Michelle
164.228WR1FOR::RUSSELLPE_STTue Nov 24 1992 15:2213
Blossom Hill is a good street to cross the valley, except there are
lots of lights and traffic, so although the freeways are longer they
probably will be faster. If there is a problem on 101N get off at
Blossom Hill and go west to the end and that's N Santa Cruz. Make a
right (there's a AAA on the corner.) The street name changes to
Winchester Blvd which is my street. My townhouse complex will be on
your right after Vineland Ave. Make a right into the driveway after
    the bus stop.

How's 7:00? It seemed to work well last time.

I hope you can make it, Michelle. I also hope you will be employed.
Get here as soon as you can.

Jan, tell Dean that Marnie says "Mew" and sticks out his head for a
kiss. I hope he'll come. Also ask Scott to come, and Christina. Will
Jo be able to make it?

7:00pm is good. I'll send mail to Jo, Scot and Christina and will
make every attempt to talk Dean into joining us. I don't think it
will take much to talk him into it. I mentioned it last night and
he seemed very agreeable to it, work schedule permitting.

Thanks for the information! I will talk to Steven tonight. I feel bad
that we weren't able to make the other two dinners. Perhaps the third
    time is the charm!

I will mark my calendar for February 19.

Before Karen Kolling leaves Feline, :-( I would like to check and see
if we are still on for our get together on Friday Feb 19 at my house.
(Karen you are not authorized to get sick this time). Dian has some
goodies in mind involving boboli and yummy topping that she's bring.
Marlene is bringing spinach dip in sourdough bread. Jan, could you check
with Christina and Scott and see if they will be coming. (Marnie's
looking forward to seeing Dean again.) It's also Jo's birthday and I
hope she'll choose to celebrate with us.

I'm planning on showing up at 7 p.m., I don't know about anyone else :-)

I just got a job offer from a DEC owned company called EA. If I wind up
there, I'll apparently have ENET access, although I won't be a DEC
employee (strange are the ways of bureaucracies.) I'm not sure I will,
however. It will be 2-3 weeks before this becomes clear.

If I remember correctly, I'm bringing some vegetable object?

Steffi, I think I'll be there. I have another function that weekend
in Fresno so I'm trying to work out some carpooling with Michelle.
Dean won't probably won't be there. Please send apologies to Marnie.

Depending on the scheduling, I will try to bring German Chocolate
Carmel Brownies. If things get to nuts trying to get ready for
FELINERS and my other function, I may have to bring something easier
    or store bought.

Okay, perhaps I spoke in haste. There is still a chance that Dean
will be able to join us. I can't be totally sure yet so if you
could just leave a spot open for him, I'd really appreciate that.

There is definitely a spot open for Dean, (right near Marnie's favorite
perch, ;-)). Looking forward to seeing you and Michelle.

Anyone bringing some Ben & Jerry's????

Took the liberty of locating the directions Steffi posted for the
last get-together we held at her house (hope you don't mind, Steffi).

Do we have a complete headcount and food count yet? I only ask
because I heard from Michelle Cantoni today (she's working in the
Modesto office for a couple of days but doesn't have notes access)
and she's wondering what she should bring to eat.

    Directions
    ----------

Take 17 (880) S to Lark Ave (Los Gatos)
Go right on Lark to Winchester Blvd. (Lark ends there). Left on
Winchester. Past Villa Felice on the left. The next townhouse complex
is mine. 15400 Take either driveway, it makes an upside down U. We
are in #30 at the back part of the U. There is a little parking in the
driveway by my garage and more parking along the drive before my house.
I'll have the porch lights on and 1 is green, should be easy to spot.

Thanks, Jan. One change to the directions. The porch lights are now
both white and quite bright. Our contractor couldn't stand the green
light and changed them. (I'm glad, I didn't like the 2 different lights
    either).

I spoke to Dian and she's bringing boboli and toppings and a trifle.
Karen Kolling will bring a veggie dish. Bob and I will have a salad
and sodas. I spoke to Christina Wilder and she hopes to come, maybe
without hubby. She didn't know what she would bring. Jan, what will
    you be bringing?

Looking forward to seeing as many feliners as possible.

I got a note from Karen Kolling yesterday, wondering about a Feliner
dinner. I just happened to be having lunch yesterday with Dian Wilde,
Jo and Jan. We decided on Thursday July 22 for a potluck at Dian's.
She has a new kitty that she rescued, that she wants us to meet. So
West Coast Feliners please plan to come.

164.270Sure is quiet out there!WR1FOR::RUSSELLPE_STTue Jul 13 1993 11:0510
I haven't heard anything from the bay area feliners. Please write and
let me know if you are planning to come. Dian is planning to make
chicken and iced tea. Karen will bring a veggie dish and I will bring
    a chocolate cheesecake (homemade).

Jan could you please extract the directions to Dian's that are
somewhere in this note. Thanks. Also, Jan, what are you planning to
    bring?

The directions can be found in note 164.131. Feel free to print or
    extract as needed.

I haven't got a clue what I'm bringing. I still have to figure out
if I can make it and if I can get Bryan to tag along with me.

I just spoke to Dian and we decided to cancel the potluck on

reschedule for a time when more people can attend.
