160.0. "Service that transports cats across country???" by PULSAR::CHAPMAN () Mon Jan 27 1992 10:46

Hello fellow-feline-fanciers. A few years ago I participated in the
old feline notes files, but haven't for some time.

In the file there was a discussion about a service that transported
cats from one geographic location to another through a network of
vets and airlines. I've looked through the direction on this note and
can't find any mention of it.

I now have urgent need of this service. My terminally ill mother will
NOT leave her cat to come stay with me. I need to transport both
mother and cat from Lamar, Colorado to Nashua, N.H.

I know that the airlines will transport the cat ... but this involves a
4 hour drive from Lamar to Denver, then a 4 hour flight to Boston, then
    the drive to N.H.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Carel (dtn 381-2717, Node: PULSAR::Chapman, or this Note)

These services exist in some areas. You will have to check the yellow
pages in your area, and in your mother's in order to see if there is
such a service available to you.

If you can't find a service to do it, you can do it yourself. Shipping
cats isn't that complicated. The only problem you will have is getting
someone to get the cat to the airport in Denver. Maybe your mother has
a friend or neighbor that would be willing to do it.
