117.1 | Haddleigh House in Sudbury. | MR4DEC::COLAIANNI | | Mon Jan 06 1992 07:35 | 16 |
| Hi,
I'm not sure where you are, but you can purchase those sparkle toys at
Haddleigh House in Sudbury. It is located on Rt. 20, in the same plaza
as Sudbury Farms, which is a grocery store. If you are coming from
Marlboro, it will be just before the set of lights for rt. 62, and
coming the other way, just past those lights. Actually, you could turn
in at those lights and go through the parking lots. Coming from
Wayland, that would probavly be easier, considering the traffic in that
spot.
I really like that store. They have tons of stuff, and most of it is
cheaper than other places I've been to.

| I believe that Pets Choice in Merrimack has them
424-PAWS
They are near Mienke (sp) on old Route 3 heading towards Hanna Jack
Tavern but on the left hand side in a little shopping center.

Food for Pets on 101A in Amherst had them. I like this place
because they do NOT sell live animals - just food, toys, etc.

| re .1 and directions to Haddleigh House:
The set of lights referred to is not at Rt 62, but at Union Ave. in Sudbury.
Coming from Maynard, (where MILPND is located):
Take Rt 27 south, past the Parker Street facility (good landmark :-)). At the
stop sign, turn left (staying on Rt 27). Turn right at the set of lights.
(This is Sudbury Center, you'll see a school and church(es) -- they may have
put in another set of lights before this set since last time I was there).
Follow this road down to Rt 20; go straight through the lights into the
shopping center, and as .1 said, cut through the parking lot towards the right;
HH is a few stores past the supermarket.

| For what it is worth, Haddleigh House is at the 1776 Plaza, which is
located at 1776 Boston Post Road (Rt 20). It is on the opposite side
as Raytheon.

117.7 | Laser Light...little red dot | USCTR1::MERRITT_S | Kitty City | Thu Feb 13 1997 05:46 | 21 |
| I wasn't sure where to put this note....so here goes!!
I found the GREATEST cat toy ever!!! It's a laser pen that
shoots a little red bright dot over 600 feet. ALL my cats (even
the older gentlemen) actually go nuts with this thing. You
can sit on the couch and just move the pen so the red dot goes
all around the room or even in another room. I have many cats
that won't chase the flashlight light...but they cannot resist
this little red dot!!
It is not really a cat toy...it is sold as a laser pointer for
presentations. Radio Shack sells them...as well as some of
the catalog books you get at home. I've seem them priced anywhere
from $30-$40. It is not a toy that you would leave out...but one
that you can exercise your cats...while you sit on your butt!!!
(my kind of toy!!!)
Out of 14 of my cats...and 6 of my sisters cats....ALL of them
went nuts with this little red dot!!

| Be careful of their eyes, I think they print warnings on these about
shining in/near human's eyes during presentations.

I've had one of these for a while. My kids love it. And yes, be
careful not to point it in their eyes.
Mine came with a warranty registration card; one of the questions was
"why do you plan to use this for?" And one of the possible answers you
could check was "cat toy"!
Floyd has learned that the red bug appears soon after I take out the
"thick black pencil". The moment he says me pick it up he starts
looking all around the floor.

What I love is once you put it away...they still are in search
mode for about 5 mintues after. They look under couches...up
on the ceiling...around the corner etc!!!

| Mine love the laser pointer too - even the 19-year-old matriarch.
The kitten is a bit fonder of the "canary" (a yellow feather-flyer)
because she can jump up in the air after that one.

Gilligan loves the feather kitty tease. Though because he was
feral as a kitten I think he still thinks of it as "prey" and
has the need to drag it off somewhere to hide it. And he's
a strong little bugger too. Once he gets his teeth on it, they're
like a vise! He even knows where I keep it. He sees that drawer
open and he gets his 'kitty play face' on. He'll be all confused
when we move! =)

Same thing Gypsy does, although his favorite prey is a little stuffed mouse
with white fur. No matter where I put it he finds it, even in way out of the
way places!
My cats favorite toys are ones that I make...different all the time!

| Knuffie has astock pile of little prizes,
many of them toys, under the end of my bed.
Still at least I know where to look when I
loose an earring/hair scrunches/pen/underwear
film canisters (very popular).
