    I wish I was in this notesfile about 3 months ago.  My husband and I
    could have used the support that y'all so willingly give.
    
    Sunday, Sept. 1, my husband and I had planned on spending the day with
    friends.  When we left, our 9 year old cat, Tiki II, was his usual,
    ornery self...running up and down the stairs, chasing his "little
    brother" Rico, just life as usual. 
    
    Our visit turned into an overnighter, but we weren't worried, as both
    of our boys seemed fine and we had made sure that their food and water
    were both full before we left.  We had also given both of them lots of
    love and pats before leaving.
    
    We got home around noon Monday the 2nd, and Tiki was lying down, no
    energy.  At first we thought that he was just resting, except he didn't
    greet us at the door as usual, and would barely lift his head.  He also
    started to throw up white foam.  Rico kept hovering over him, and we
    both figured that maybe he just ate something that disagreed with him
    (which really was pretty near impossible, but we were grasping at
    straws).  As the day progressed, he got worse, so we took him to the
    vet.  The vet gave him a general once-over quick look-see, and told us
    that his body temperature was way off.  They would put him in an
    incubator, and run some tests in the morning...would we please call
    back at around 8:30?
    
    The next morning, Tuesday September 3, on our 6th anniversary, our
    phone rang at 8:00...Tiki II had died in his sleep sometime between
    when the doctor last looked in on him (at 2 in the morning, God love
    her) and 6, when the tests were going to begin.  The prognosis...liver
    and pancrea failure.
    
    We all, my husband, Rico and I, all still miss him horribly...I'm
    getting a little teary as I type this.  I just needed to get this out.

    I'm so sorry for your loss.  I know it's small comfort, but at least
    Tiki II was in loving hands.

    I'm so sorry to hear about Tiki..I lost my Sylvester about 8mos ago
    and I still cry over losing him, I miss him every day....They become
    such a part of you and just a little love and attention makes their
    day.
