Conference misery::abc_soaps

    Nobody has written in this file yet, so I figured I would start.  
    
    Where did Danny's ex-wife go to after he was killed?  Her and Gary were
    getting pretty close, then the rape thing happened.  But, I forgot what
    happened after that.

     Through conversation once, someone told me that Gary & Val's twins
    were named after relatives. Bobby was named for Bobby Ewing who
    DIDN'T die on Dallas. Who is Betsy named after?...and did that woman
    really exist as a character?...and if the boy was named after his
    dead uncle (who really didn't die), how come Knots Landing hasn't
    awoke from that dream yet?
     Have they ever explained that Bobby Ewing is STILL alive??
    
     I know it's only a soap, but it'll be fun to find out...

    The writers of KL decided to ignore the fact that Bobby was alive when
    Dallas pulled their famous dream sequence...it was already written into
    their storyline and they weren't about to make their last season a
    dream also.  I think Betsy is named after the Aunt Betsy that was
    living with Val, but I could be wrong.

    Actually I believe that Betsy is named after Ben's mother.  Remember at
    the beginning Val had everyone believing that the twins were Ben's. 
    Ben knew they weren't his.  Anyways she named Bobby after the Ewing
    side and Betsy after Ben's side.

    
    
     This topic has gone no where. Come on KL fans....
     Alec Baldwin....Can someone describe the history of his character?
     Who's relative was he? and how is he related to that person? Is he
    still alive? Wasn't he involved with CG or CeeGee or....??
     This was just before I got interested in this nighttime soap. 
     I saw him in "The Hunt for Red October", recognized him as a previous
    character and was wonder about that role. I have a hint of a memory of
    his relation to Val.
    
      Now....What happened to Val's Mom? Is she still on the road with Red?
    Will we ever see her again?

    I think that Alec (forget what his character name was) was Val's
    mother's on.  He lived down South with his father.  He tracked her down, 
    and came to live with Val.  I don't think Val ever knew about him
    before this.  He ended up being a preacher on a tv show, met Cee Gee
    and started controling her singing career.  He started acting real
    strange, getting all religious and telling her she was how to dress etc.
    I can't remember how he died, also Cee Gee died too.  Gary was somehow
    involved with her too, and I think she came back later as another
    person that looked like her.  Val's mom went on the road with Red, then
    I think they ended up settling somewhere down South.  I think Val sent
    the kids with Aunt Jennie to visit her mother not too long ago.  I hope
    that this sheds a little light on the subject.  Maybe someone else can
    fill in the holes, and we can get this file active.

    Alec Baldwin was JOSHUA RUSH! First came to town saying he was Val's
    cousin, Lilly-Mae's nephew, but it turns out he was really her SON!
    
    She abandoned him to pursue her singing/whatever career.  His dad I
    think was a preacher and so was he.  CG was before all this. She died
    (was killed by Chip I think) and then came back as Cathy Geary by Abby
    to keep Gary distracted (he loved CG) while she stole all his $$. 
    
    Joshua and Cathy got married.  He did lots of things like announce they
    were getting married on his tv show without even asking her if she
    wanted to get married! Things went downhill from there, he went nuts
    and felt he had to kill Cathy. So he dragged her up to a rooftop
    (across the street was a big billboard for CATHY singing on tv) and he
    tried to kill her but HE fell off instead and died.
    
    Coincidentally, this whole part of the show was just on last week on
    channel 9! Ch. 9 in NH shows 2 Knot's Landings every night , M-F. I
    used to tape them but now that I've seen them all I've stopped (that's
    10 hours a week!) But I taped once last week just to see where they
    were and it was the show where Joshua dies. 
    
    Alec Baldwin was also in BeetleJuice and lots of other movies.

    Just thought I'd add a note too.  When Alec Baldwin played Joshua on KL
    he was such a BAD person.  I couldn't stand him.  Then I saw him in
    some other movie and he was bad in that one too.  I didn't like him. 
    Then, I saw him in The Hunt for Red October and he played such a good
    part that he changed my mind about him and now I like him.
    
    Another aside, when I saw the movie FlatLiners there was a movie actor
    which I said looks alot like Alec Baldwin, but younger and since the
    movie had just come out I knew it couldn't be since Alec was on KL
    years ago.  Well come to find out the actor was Alec's brother and boy
    do they look alike!!

    Check out Alec Baldwin in The Marrying Man with Kim Basinger.  It's
    a funny movie.
    
    I think the movie he played a bad guy in was Miami Blues or something
    like that.  It was a pretty good movie.  I like Alec Baldwin in
    anything he does no matter whether people think its a bad or good
    movie.  I loved him in Hunt for Red October.  I've been totally
    hooked on him since his Knots Landing days.

    How many does he have and who were/are they?

    Question: (in fun) Would Steve be Claudia's son and step-brother, since
    Paul G. was married(???) to her mother?

    Let's see, Greg's siblings...
    
    Claudia (they have the same mother, different fathers.)
    
    A brother who died and who Peter Hollister impersonated.  Same father,
    different mothers.
    
    Now Steve. Same father different mothers. 
    
    I don't know any others.

    How does Steve fit into Greg and Claudia's life??  If Steve is her
    son and Paul Gallveston is his father and Greg's father, but Claudia
    and Greg are brother and sister... Boy I would hate to do a family tree
    on this bunch!!!  Can someone please explain?? I wonder what Steve will
    do when he finds out Paul is his real father, if he hates Greg so much
    I wonder how he'll feel about Paul, seens as from what I can tell Paul
    was 10 times worse thatn Greg will ever be...

    I really don't remember if she did anything devious to get a job.
    I thought she just went in and applied.  Started as a lowly research
    person and then started the underhanded tricks to get office space in
    Michael's office then her own office, then a higher position in
    research (is she in charge of the research dept. now?).

    In response to your last question I don't remember if Linda is in
    charge of research or not, but that company has some of the most
    incompetent people in charge...Mort, Linda....how does Greg make any
    money?

    He's got Mort's buddy (whatever his name is) to keep tabs on the
    finances. 
    
    Actually, I like Mort...he's probably one of the sleeziest characters 
    on a show.  He's right up there with the guy who used to do the Isuzu 
    commercials; he's on Empty Nest and I think his character is a riot.

    Don't get me wrong, I think Mort is funny....but he's just too dumb to
    be a vice-president...or maybe he just appears that way

    Really, is he a vice president?  I musta missed that one.  I just
    thought he was one of the many mid-to-upper-level managers most 
    companies have.  He is pretty dumb.  Remember when he called that 
    phone number looking for a good time and got (oops now I've forgotten 
    who it was) Linda?  Or, was it Paige.  Anyway I thought it was funny,
    Even if it loses something as I try to recall the event.

    It was Linda, when Paige placed the ad for her saying "anyone looking
    for a good time, call this number" or words to that effect.  I liked
    his response..."who'da thought it?"  [most anyone I would think, she
    certainly isn't picky about how she gets ahead]  I wish they'd shown
    more about that ad.

    I watched one of the Jason movies (Friday the 13th Part 7:The New
    Blood, I think it was) where a girl with telekenic powers tries to
    kill Jason. Well, my question, the girl that "stopped" Jason was
    the same woman who is playing Linda Fairgate, isn't she???

    	of Jason's movies in a long time but now that I'm thinking
    	about it, you may be right.
    
    	One question too, What time does the old Knots shows come on
    	during the weekdays on channel 9 (I think)??  I would like to
    	tape some of them.  I am a old timer also and have been watching
    	Knots for years....  It's such a *great* show.  My number one
    	peson was Abby and I wish they would bring her back for a few
    	guest appearances to stomp out Linda...:-) :-)

    Knots is on from 3-5 AM (two shows back to back) on Channel 9 WMUR 
    in New Hampshire.
      

    Just last week the Knots Landing shows on Ch. 9 started over again from
    the very first one so if you want to see the REAL OLD ones, tune in!
    They go up to when Peter gets killed and Abby buries him in the
    playground.  I was hoping they'd keep going and show the Jill goes nuts

    I'm way up here in Kitchener, Ontario and they haven't even begun to
    show last year's reruns although I'm waiting patiently.  
    
    Has anyone heard when the season opener is scheduled for?  I can't
    stand this eternal wait through the summer season without even so much
    as a rerun!

    Hello Knots Landing noters!!!  I am really GLAD to know that there is a
    file for this soap.  Anyway, here in the Philippines, the latest
    episode of Knots Landing is when Linda (Eric Fairgate's wife) decided
    to have a divorce with Eric & left Karen's house.  I would really
    appreciate if anybody can help me access the old Knots Landing file so
    that I can keep track on what will happen next.
    
    Regarding the latest updates, sometimes I get confussed on some of the
    characters since I never seen them yet here.  Anyway, I really enjoy
    reading those updates & comments.  How I wish I can also be there to
    watch the latest episodes...

    The old Knots Landing file is no longer available.  It use to be
    located on IOALOT::SOAPS, but that file went away over a year ago.  I'm
    sure if you ask questions in the KL History file, people will be glad
    to help you with any questions.

    I AM QUITE CURIOUS REGARDING THE PERSON WHO KILLED DANNY WALESKA(VAL'S
    PSYCHO HUSBAND) BECAUSE HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES, WE STILL DON'T KNOW
    WHO DID IT.  IT'S GOOD TO HEAR THAT THEY ELIMINATED THIS INSAIN
    CHARACTER IN THE SERIES.
    
    PAIGE & TOM ARE NOW LIVING IN.  HOW LONG WILL THEY LAST?  WILL GREG
    WRECK THEIR HAPPY RELATIONSHIP?  KNOWING GREG, HE WILL DO ANYTHING JUST
    TO HAVE PAIGE ON HIS SIDE.

    I plan to put who did it behind a spoiler so I hope it works so that

    Julie kind of did it.  He was after her and she ran in the house with
    Danny running after her.  She went in through a sliding glass door and
    ended up shutting the door on his fingers.  He backed off in pain and
    went to dip his fingers in the cool pool water.  When he did he fell
    into the pool and since he was drunk, he couldn't keep himself afloat
    and drowned.  Julie saw but didn't help him.
    
    As far as Tom and Paige, of course they will not last.  Greg does do
    something to keep them from getting married.

    GREG BLACKMAILED TOM.  BUT NOW, THEY ARE LIVING IN.  NOW, PAIGE IS
    SCOUTING FOR A NEW JOB BUT GREG CAME INTO THE PICTURE BY TALKING TO ONE
    OF HIS EMPLOYEE "MORT" & JEOPARDIZE HER POSSIBLE EMPLOYMENT OUTSIDE
    SUMMNER GROUP.
    
    KNOWING THAT THEIR RELATIONSHIP WILL END, WILL THERE BE ANY INTERESTING

    Not too sure about what happens when since we are so far ahead of you,
    but you could read the Knots Landing file for the updates to clue you
    in on what is to happen.

    Is there anyone left on this conference that is waiting for the season
    opener of Knots Landing?  I've been watching since the show began and I
    love it!  Especially Kevin Dobson (Mack)!  I have to admit that the
    show has lost something in the last year or so.  It seemed to happen
    when Abbey left and Gary and Val got back together.  The mystery was no
    longer there as to weather Gary & Val would get together and all the
    teasing and taunting and in-between marriages were gone too.  So sad. 
    I hear through the Soap grapevine that (Val) Joan Van Ark is leaving
    the show and will not be returning this year.  This, I believe will be
    the last year for Knots.  What am I going to do on Thursday nights at
    10:00pm?  I hope some more aavid Knots fans are still out there and can
    respond to my note.

    I'm still here!  I got the new SOD and here's what it says about
    Knots..
    
    When KNOTS returns to the airwaves on Thursday, Oct. 29, it will
    feature a strikingly familiar face.  As we reported in a previous
    issue of SOD, Lorenzo Caccialanza (Nick) was in negotiations with
    the show months ago, and now we've got the official ord:  Shifty-
    but-irresistible Nick will breeze back into twon this fall, but
    Anne won't be waiting for him with open arms.  Pregnant with what
    she believes to be Sumner's child, Anne will go on a wild search
    for the ex-exec.  Meanwhile, Nick will have his hands full with
    the mysterious Vanessa.  He knows all the details of her past - and
    this fall, so will you.  As for Vanessa's present, she'll continue to 
    spend it trying to break up Kate and Alex.  While you won't be seeing
    much of Valene, you'll certainly hear a lot about her.  It seems the
    info she discovered while researching Greg's biography could jeopardize
    Meg.  After Gary hires a detective and jets to Florida, you'll learn of
    Meg's whereabouts.  Things will be shaky on the Karen and Mack front,
    thanks to the return of malicious Mary.  Paige will have a lot to
    contend with in the fall.  When she's not getting stalked by Pierce,
    she'll hve job stress and her mother's relationship with Greg to deal
    with.  Luckily, a new love will help her cope with it all.

    My bet is on Benny for the father of Anne's baby. That way
    Benny can come take the baby away from her later and they
    can write it out of the story and have a nice court battle

    mary showed up late last season.  she claims to be laura's mother. we
    never knew before, but laura was adopted. now mary is turning out to be
    s bit pyscho and is trying to steal little meg.

    Last weeks show was much better than the first show.  I was really
    psyched to see Nick on the previews for tonights show.  I can't wait.
    I was reading US magazine last week and Knots Landing was listed as a
    show that should be cancelled this season (this was buy a poll).

    I love Nick too......that man is gorgeous!!  I started laughing as 
    soon as I saw Ann walk in the doctors office with a fan.....I KNEW 
    she wasn't pregnant....MENOPAUSE.....i love it after she told paige
    she was NOT too old for a baby!  I guess next week is the kill-off 
    of val....looked like a fake....i think after all these years of 
    viewer loyalty....she couldv'e came back herself for the final 
    farewell!     The nerve of mary telling meg she's adopted...that 
    really pissed me off.  i can't wait for next week!  gary and kate will
    be cute together....somebody here had that pegged.
