When Joe left the 1st time, he had a car crash and the car went over a
cliff, his body was never found. Vicki finally got over her mourning
for him and fell in love with Steve Burke (he was managing editor of
the Banner ?). This is about 2 years after the crash of Joe's car.

Vicki and Steve get married. Joe Riley shows up. He has amnesia. This
is when Wonda is introduced. Joe stayed at her place while he regained
his memory. Joe (once he regained his memory) sought out Vinny Woleck
and the two of them helped Vicki see the "light" and come back to Joe.
Naturally there was the agonizing decision for Vicki - whick husband to
choose. She was still legally married to Joe (I think, or was he
    declared legally dead ?).

Wonda had this massive crush on Joe and Vinny kinda liked Wonda.
Anyway,Vicki and Joe get together (until he has his anuerism attack)
and Vinny and Wonda get together (until Vinny gets killed).

Before Joe dies, he contacts his friend Clint Buchanan in Arizona to
come and be the new managing editor of the BAnner. Joe was hoping that
Clint and Vicki would hit it off and get involved.

Tina's father (before she found out about Victor being her biological
father) had the hots for Vicki. His name was Ted (?), the actor was the
same one who played on Don on "Lost in Space". He turned out to be a
bad guy and was killed in a spectacular electrocution. He turned up
because Tina's mother (Irene) knew she (Irene) was dying and was asking
Vicki to take Tina in and finsih raising her (Tina was about 16 then).
I beloeve Irene and Ted had been divorced or Ted was presumed dead
    also.

    Hope this helps.

Wasn't Tina's father Ted Clayton? I think that's the name. Also when he
was electrocuted wasn't he escaping from something and was he dressed
like a woman? They use the clectrocution bit a lot don't they?
Was TEd the one that drugged Vicki, who was then played by the woman who
later played Pamela, and was trying to get her on an airplane to
somewhere? I think whoever it was they were after her money.
Anyone remember when Asa was married to Sam. And then Olympia got
out/escaped from where ever Asa had her. Remember the masquarade party
at Asas? How when Bo thought he was a Ralston which Asa didn't mind to
much, because that left Delila for him. Remember the rodeo storyline.
I know lots of remeber whens but maybe these will jog some memories
and get the file going for DC.

I remember Sam and Delilah. Wasn't Sam really in love with Asa, (not
just after him for his money!). Also, did she marry again, or die or
something. I can't remember what happened to her.

Was Delilah actually married to Asa? And wasn't she just after him for
his money? If I remember (and I could be wrong) she came on the show
    "bad" and turned "good"???

I vaguely remember a storyline where both Delilah and DeDe were
imprisoned somewhere and Bo found them??? Refresh my memory please!

Also, was Asa's wife (current) a prostitute or something at one time?

Yes, Sam was in love w/ Asa. She later married Rafe and died. She was
preggers and they did surgery and Delila carried the baby to term so
that Rafe could have the child.

Yes, Delila married Asa and yes she started off bad and turned good.

Renee was a Madam but I can't say for sure that she was a hooker.

Can anyone refresh my memory about Edwina Lewis? Wasn't she married
to Marco Dane or was it his twin brother --> the doctor? Did she die?

    -dc

Sam was murdered in the hot tub at Brad's healt spa someone held
her head under water and held her there until she was supposidly dead.
She was brain dead. Delilah who couldn't concieve on her own
volunteered to carry the baby (of her friend). That is why her
daughters name is Sammi she's named after her real mother. Talk about
intermarraige in this family. You have Asa and Sam, then Rafe his
nephew marries Sam. Then Asa marries Delilah, who also married Bo and
then marries Rafe. Bo and Becky Lee had a baby then Asa marries her.
Any one else. The faux Bo was after Vikki at one time I think it was
when Clint was in 1888. But he stopped that when Clint came back and
    went after Tina.
Edwina now I can't say much about She did't die she left the show.
Her and Marco had great storylines together I can't remember if they
ever made it to the alter.
How about Brad and who did he leave town with Connie O'Neil? I
    think that was her name.
Did anyone watch the show when Marco impersonated his brother and
acted like a Dr. and even treated patients!!! How about when Dorian was
a Dr. this was all before my time. Does anyone else remember the
recording Dorian got from the hidden basement in Lanfair it was Victor
Lord orating a will leaving Dorian a dollar because that's all she
deserves. I wonder if in between all the writer changes it's been long
    forgotten.
What was Sadies last name, and was she Carlas mother or some
relation? Remember Carla and the football player?
Sorry I couldn't help you out DC.

I do remember that when Dorian was a doctor she had a sister in the
nuthouse. I can't remember what Dorian was hiding but I think the
story was that the sister was really sane and Dorian had her committed
    to keep her mouth shut.

I think Edwina broke up with Marco because he had been duping her
and she finally found out. She thought she was in love with Marco's
brother but it was really Marco all along.

Does anyone remember the death of Timmy Segal? I think this was right
after (like the same day), he and Jenny got married. I remember the
episode was a real tear-jerker (killing off that hunk - Tom Berenger),
but I don't remember what he died of. I don't think he was sick so it
must have been an accident or something. ????

IMO - this original (?) Jenny was the best. Had that Dana Delaney
'look' but sooooo innocent. Of course that's why she was a nun!

Timmy Segal, wow is that a name in the past! I didn't realize that Tom
Berenger (what a guy!) played that character.

It was a real tear jerker show. Seems Jenny left the convent for the
love of Timmy and he was either in an accident or had some disease and
was not able to consumate the marriage. He died shortly (day or 2)
    after the ceremony.

Whatever happened to Jenny? I remember she got involved with "Peter"

    have a child.

19.12Jenny's menCAPITN::LANE_BETue May 07 1991 16:1114

I don't know what happended to Jenny, but she sure had her share of men
too. Timmy, Peter, Will Vernon (old letch), Brad Vernon (what a creeep!),
etc... I don't think Peter was a sleeze - at least not in the
beginning. He worked with Jenny as a missionary in South America. It
just never worked out for them and I think he ended up with Dorian's
    sister, Melinda.

She did have a child but it died at birth. However she didn't know
that until years later beacuse Marco and Karen switched the babies
(whose baby was that) in the hospital. They claimed they did it
because Jenny wouldn't be able to handle the truth.

The baby was KAtrina's she left town with Marcello. I think Brad
was the father, he had been one of Kat's johns. David had been a spy
turned piano player. Didn't he go by a different name before? His past
came back to haunt him and he and Jenny got held in some foriegn
country against their will. I think he had defected. Well Cassie and I
can't remember who else went to the rescue and freed them. They then
moved to some neutral country where she practiced nursing and he played
    the piano.

Actually, that really hasn't been established yet. She's got some
secret past and her mother was just revealed a few shows ago. Blair
seems too good to be true. I have a feeling she'll turn out to be evil

Yesterday, I was going through all of my tapes and labeling them. I
stumbled on a really old one. It had on it an episode from 1988. Or
should I say 1888 (when I gave up this show). Mari-lynn Dennison was
just being tried for the murder of her mother. Melinda had just gone
to clinic and met Blaze Buchanan. Rob and Cassie were talking about
Cassie's relationship with Jon and Rob's decision to return to Europe.
Which leads me to a question....why did Cassie and Rob ever divorce???

OK history experts from OLTL, here's one for you!!!

Episodes says that in early 1977, Julia Duffy (Newheart, Designing
Women) played the role of Karen Wolek. Her stint, however, was
temporary-Judith Light joint that cast as the permanent Karen in the
spring of 1977 and played the role till 1983.

I don't remember Julia Duffy playing Karen. I do remember a very sexy
bombshell, petite, blond who Larry originally married, but I don't
remember it being Julia. I remember everyone commenting that the
replacement Karen (Judith) was very overweight and not as sexy as the
original. But, she turned out to be the better actress. I usually
have a pretty good memory on these things, but this one's bugging me.

Hopefully, someone will dig back 15 years ago and remember!!!!

Melinda Cramer is Dorian's younger sister. She was a child protege
pianist and took a lot of abuse from Dorian growing up. Consequently,
she has been in and out of institutions all of her life. When she
first showed up in Llandview, she was a meek but beautiful woman. She
and Dr. Peter Jansen fell in love. But of course, their love was very
rocky because of Dorian, who always tried to control Melinda's life and
never let her forget that she is mentally ill.

The next time she came to Llandview, she was played by Sharon Gabet who
was previously on the Edge of Night. This was a very self-assured and
strong Melinda who became an anchor woman for the TV station owned by
Bo. She was pretty popular in this role and strong enough to avoid
Dorian. She was written out of the show when the writers felt her
storyline has run its course. She was a backburner character for a
    while.

I wonder if Addie is Melinda or maybe another sister who has been
suffering from mental illness for years???? Time will tell.

O.K. now you guys have me really confused. I thought Jon and Melinda
WERE involved at one time. She used to set up little scenes like a
harem, etc. and have his "costume" ready when he came in. Am I losing
it? Was it someone else? I know it was Melinda and someone. I was
fairly sure it was Jon. And he did have an affair with Cassie while

At some time Rob came back and Cassie was torn between Jon and Rob.
Cassie was living with Jon and Rob wanted Cassie back. Then wasn't

Nurse Karen Martin seduced Larry Wolek and became pregnant and forced
Larry to marry her. This was the first Karen Wolek, played by Niki
Flacks. Then I think Larry married Meredith, even though he was in love
with Viki. Then he married the Jenny's sister Karen played by Kathryn
Breech then Judith Light. Maybe Julia Duffy just filled in for awhile.

Dorian was involved in the death of Rachel Wilson, for which Larry
Wolek was convicted, but it was learned later that Dorian and Dr Mark
Toland had given her a double dose of medicine. Dorian was fired and
the doctor fled town. Maybe Addie is some relation to Rachel and is
back to get even with Dorian.

This is kind of interesting, when Viki thought Joe Riley was dead she
married Steve Burke. When he realized the marriage was hopeless, he
gave her a divorce so she could wed Joe Riley again. In the meantime
Joe found out Cathy Craig was pregnant with his child and she gave
birth to Megan Riley. The baby was born with heart defect, which she
got from Joe Riley, he was a carrier of the genes responsible for her
illness. Megan was having a respiratory attack, Viki in a panic drove
her to the hospital. The car crashed and killed Megan and put Viki in a
coma for serveral months. When Viki came out of the coma she leaned she
was pregnant with Joe Riley's child.

A friend asked me to record OLTL for a week while he was away, and now
I'm hooked. We've only been watching for about 4 months, and have many
questions. I've read this file, and I've started to read 18.*, but the

Hopefully, someone out there can help us!

    1. Who is Cord?
    2. How long have Viki and Clint been married? I read somewhere that
Jessie is their only biological child together, but for some reason, it
doesn't seem like they have been together that long. Also, even though
we are both in love with Viki, she seems a little old to have such a
    young (biological) child (sorry Viki!).
    3. How is Cain related to the Buchanon family? Is it just through
Tina? How is Tina related to the Buchanon family?

We have lots more questions, but these would be a great start.

    Thanks in advance,
    Sarah

        Sarah,
Cord is Clint's son with Maria Roberts. Clint and the hired helps
daughter had a relationship when they were young, she got pregnant. I
think Asa got her out of the way. 20 some odd years later Tina found
this info out and went looking for Cord. They ended up falling in love
and were married 3 times over the years. He had followed her to
Llanview where eventually the news came out. His mother was a nutcase
and was going to try and kill Vicki so she could get Clint back, with
poison earrings. Tina found this out they fought and the poison landed
on Maria killing her. His body, which had been shot I think fell into
the water in JAPAN?? never to be found. Maybe he'll resurface someday
you never know?? Suede looks a bit like him..
Vicki and Clint let's see. Which marriage do you want to know about??
Just kidding. Through trials and tribualtions they've been married
jeese about nine years... Jessica has been aged soap time she's really
supposed to be younger then Tina's son. Yes she's their only biological
child. Kevin and Joey who in real time are only supposed to be around 12-15
are Vickies kid by Joe Riley..
Vicki also had a long lost daughter turn up a few years back. Her
name was Megan she died recently.
Cain isn't related to the Bucanan Family he just worked for Asa now
Blair. And has/had a relationship with Tina.
Tina is Vicki's iligitimate half sister by a friends of Vicki's. This
wasn't found out till 7 or more years ago. I guess I've been watching longer
then I thought. She is also Cord's widow, he was an iligitimate Bucanan. Vicki
had caught her father and her friend in bed together and this caused her first
bout with her split personality. Nicki/Vicki.

Hope this helps,
    				Barbara

    Barbara,

Thanks! That does help a lot. I'm sure there will be more questions,
but you've given us some great background.

    Thanks again,

Your welcome. I know how confusing these things can get. ;-) I tend to
switch channels a lot during soap time. If you think it's hard to keep
one show straight try five or six..

    Barbara,

I just re-read your previous reply to me and caught something I missed
the first time - what is this about Viki's split personality? Was this
a recent happening? Enquiring minds want to know...

    Thanks,

Oops - just remembered another question. I have finally caught up on
all of the notes for OLTL, and someone just mentioned the Halloween
    fire. What happened there?

    Thanks for your patience!

This is really long. It's a partial history on OLTL"S cast of characters.
The first part is the characters name and who played them. The second
part is The character and a brief description of their storyline. There
are two more parts I will try to retrieve.

Hello, OLTL fans. Just a few things to tell you this time around.
I've changed things a little (which is why this is so late in getting
out). In the beginning, I've listed all of the characters profiled in
all four (yes, four) posts that I'm sending out. After that, I have the
full character descriptions. Hopefully, this will jog some of your
memories when it comes to the names of the actors who've portrayed the
characters.

With that out of the way, I'd like you to know that I'm presenting
you all with a *once-in-a-lifetime* opportunity. This time around, I've
added as many characters as I could think of. If anyone can think of a
character they don't see here, I'll try to add them next month.

Unfortunately, next month will be the last time I send out the
entire list. After next month, I'm only going to include characters
currently on the show and characters *directly* related to them. If you
want the entire list, you'll have to e-mail me. So start thinking. And
enjoy!
