Hello, I seriously plan to buy a Technics portable CD player, the SL-XP6. Has anybody got any info about it ? How much is it in the US ? Since this player runs only on AA batteries, I may be considering buying it (or having it bought) in the US (I live in France), that's why I need some info on the availability of such player. Thank you for your help, Pierre.

Salut, Pierre. Nobody seems to be willing to answer this note. I guess the Technics portable are not as popular as other models. The big sellers in U.S. are Sony and Toshiba. I don't recall ever seing a technics SL-XP6 in U.S (I am sure there are, I just never noticed). Anyway If there is, it cannot be more than US$300.00 witch is the price for the "Top of the line" SONY portable, the D-15. The D-4 normally goes for $200.00, it has the same feature but is twice thicker, still quite portable though. The Toshiba are a little cheaper in price and in quality, to my opinion anyway. I own a D-15 and a Toshiba XR-P9, the quality of the D-15 is very noticeable. My XR-P9 is getting old... Note the prices above are the "Sale" price. It may vary a little depending of the week/where it is bought. P.S.: Pierre, si tu veux plus d'info sur le D-15, laisse moi le savoir par VaxMail. Je me ferai un plaisir de te les passer. Bien le bonjour! Vincent. | |||||

Don't bother. I got it now. I paid the full price in France, but it's just simply GREAT ! Pierre. |
