1391.0. "Where are 10,000 Maniacs?!?" by BERN01::SCHMITT (Max G. Schmitt, Berne) Tue Nov 15 1988 05:45

I recently bought thw latest 10,000 Maniacs album. It's only available here as
an import (Not distributed through normal channels). I'd like to know if there's
anything else out in the States from them, maybe someone can even give me the
address of a mail-order store where I could obtain it.

Thanks in advance

10K Maniacs released an album in 1985 entitled "The Wishing Chair".
The CD is distributed outside of the U.S. by WEA. I have not heard
the disc, but I can tell you that it is either a full platter or
contains short songs, as there are 15 to be heard! The catalog
number is 60428-2 (that is the number in the U.S. anyway.)
There is at least one recent entry regarding mail-order service
provided by a major record store in the U.K.

    Good Luck,
    Shawn

The Wishing Chair is a full album plus a couple of extra songs.
It's possible, but I don't know for sure, that the extra songs are
from their hard to find EP ..?..?..the I Ching. It's a very good
album, different from, but every bit as good as In My Tribe.
The guitar parts are much more aggressive, and Natlie Merchant's
lyrics are a little harder to make out.

"Scorpio Rising" has gotten some air play around here.
